What You Need to Know About Groups and Squads

General Questions

What is the difference between a squad and a division?

A squad is pretty much the same as a division, but with more flexibility and creative freedom in its creation and management:

  • The rules and structure of the squads are dependant on the squad’s owner and admins rather than a clan-wide structure. Squad Leaders will decide:
  • Whether or not to manage or log hours/sessions
  • Whether or not to have squad staff
  • Whether or not to have their own staff and squad handbooks
  • Whether or not to recruit and what the recruitment process will be
  • What their squad will be:
    • Casual
    • Structured
    • Competitive
    • Streaming/Content gaming group
    • Podcast group
    • Etc.
  • Multiple squads can center around the same games
  • People can be a part of and manage multiple squads

Do I have to create a group or a squad?

Nope! You can join groups and squads and not worry about creating one at all.

Is there an app for the PMS Clan website?

There is an app called Wix Mobile App. When you sign in using your login info for the PMS website, it will also create a wix account for you. Then you can link the PMS website to the app.

How will groups and squads be promoted across PMS Clan platforms?

A list of groups and squads will be posted and updated in a read-only channel within the PMS Clan Discord server. Each group and squad will be listed with a quick description and link to the group page on the PMS Clan website. Any group or squad that has at least 8 or more (subject to change) members and are primarily a gaming squad will be given their own category and channels within the PMS Clan Discord server. Group and Squad Leaders will have access to a Google calendar where they can add their sessions. The Google calendar will be synced to the PMS Clan website calendar for all to see. We will also provide an Events Request form for any sqauds who want to organize an event and have it promoted on the PMS Clan blog, Discord server, events calendar. The Community Engagments Team will help squads organize events.

How will the PMS Clan Discord server be organized?

Any group and squad that has at least 8 or more (subject to change) members will be given their own category and channels within the PMS Clan Discord server. Unfortunately, because we are limited to 500 channels/categories, as we get more and more squads, squads will get first dibs on space. The division channels will be removed; however, some of the active game channels will remain for people to LFG and recruit for their squads. Any channels that are inactive for a month or more will be removed.

Who can create a group or squad?

Right now, group and squad creation is limited to division management teams (e.g. Generals, Division Leaders, Recruitment Managers, Experience Managers). We will make an announcement in the PMS Clan Discord server when group and squad creation is open to everyone 18 and over. All groups and squads will be approved by the Clan Leaders. After you create your group/squad, you will receive a notification letting you know your group/squad is pending approval. The Clan Leaders receive a notification each time a group/squad is created. You can create a group/squad on your own, partner up with other members and form a group/squad together, or just join a group/squad.

What about current divisions?

All divisions will be phased out; however, divisions can stay together by creating a squad.

Where can I find a list of squads to join?

On the website:

  1. Hover over Members in the top menu
  2. Click on Squads List
On the Discord server: There will be a read-only channel created, which will include a quick description of each squad and a link to the squad page on the PMS Clan website.

  • art group
  • book club
  • cooking class/club (*hint* *hint* H2O Gir)
  • podcast about gaming
  • etc.

Moderation

Who will be overseeing the squads?

There will be a team of moderators, including the Generals, who will oversee the squads. Much like how we oversee the divisions and community now, moderators/Generals will have access to squad channels (Discord) and squad pages (website) and report any squad member/squad found to be breaking our Code of Conduct.

Are currently banned and blacklisted members allowed to join a group/squad?

No. Anyone who is banned/blacklisted/removed from the clan is still not allowed on the PMS Clan Discord server, forums, or website (as a site member). We are able to monitor who joins the website and intervene accordingly. If someone who has been banned/blacklisted/removed tries to sneak into/play with a group/squad, please send a report using the Contact Support or Report form on the website or the ticket bot in the #help_and_support channel on our Discord server.

Where can I submit a report or contact support?

Via the PMS Clan website:

  • Click on Support or Report link at the bottom of the website, under Quick Links
Via Discord:
  • Go to the #help_and_support channel, react to the message, and a moderator will reach out to you

What if a squad/squad member is breaking the PMS Clan Code of Conduct?

Members can report a squad(s)/squad member(s) for breaking our Code of Conduct using an automated reporting/ticketing system within the website and our Discord server. If a squad/squad memeber is reported for engaging in or encouraging anything that goes against our Code of Conduct, and it is found to be true, that squad and/or members will be removed. Anything outside of the Code of Conduct, including personal drama, minor issues, and squad-related issues/squabbles, should be handled within the squad. Under this structure, members can decide to leave a squad and create their own.

Are squads required to follow any rules or guidelines?

Yes. All squads must follow the PMS Clan's Code of Conduct. Any squad/squad member not following the Code of Conduct may receive a warning or be removed from the website and PMS Clan Discord server. Please read our Code of Conduct and Terms of Use for our complete rules and guidelines.

Group & Squad Management

Will there still be events?

Yes! Much like divisions, groups and quads can have events, organize mixers with other groups/squads, ask the Community Engagement Team (CET) to help with a community event, etc. If you want to have a community event, fill out this Event Request form. A CET member will reach out to help and your event will be added to our event calendar.
