A squad is pretty much the same as a division, but with more flexibility and creative freedom in its creation and management:
The rules and structure of the squads are dependant on the squad’s owner and admins rather than a clan-wide structure. Squad Leaders will decide:
Whether or not to manage or log hours/sessions
Whether or not to have squad staff
Whether or not to have their own staff and squad handbooks
Whether or not to recruit and what the recruitment process will be
What their squad will be:
Casual
Structured
Competitive
Streaming/Content gaming group
Podcast group
Etc.
Multiple squads can center around the same games
People can be a part of and manage multiple squads
Squads are more focused on gaming with others (much like divisions), while groups are non-gaming related:
art group
book club
cooking class/club (*hint* *hint* H2O Gir)
podcast about gaming
etc.
Right now, group and squad creation is limited to division management teams (e.g. Generals, Division Leaders, Recruitment Managers, Experience Managers). We will make an announcement in the PMS Clan Discord server when group and squad creation is open to everyone 18 and over.
All groups and squads will be approved by the Clan Leaders. After you create your group/squad, you will receive a notification letting you know your group/squad is pending approval. The Clan Leaders receive a notification each time a group/squad is created.
You can create a group/squad on your own, partner up with other members and form a group/squad together, or just join a group/squad.
Nope! You can join groups and squads and not worry about creating one at all.
On the website:
Hover over Members in the top menu
Click on Squads List
On the Discord server:
There will be a read-only channel created, which will include a quick description of each squad and a link to the squad page on the PMS Clan website.
There is an app called Wix Mobile App. When you sign in using your login info for the PMS website, it will also create a wix account for you. Then you can link the PMS website to the app.
A list of groups and squads will be posted and updated in a read-only channel within the PMS Clan Discord server. Each group and squad will be listed with a quick description and link to the group page on the PMS Clan website. Any group or squad that has at least 8 or more (subject to change) members and are primarily a gaming squad will be given their own category and channels within the PMS Clan Discord server.
Group and Squad Leaders will have access to a Google calendar where they can add their sessions. The Google calendar will be synced to the PMS Clan website calendar for all to see. We will also provide an Events Request form for any sqauds who want to organize an event and have it promoted on the PMS Clan blog, Discord server, events calendar.
The Community Engagments Team will help squads organize events.
Any group and squad that has at least 8 or more (subject to change) members will be given their own category and channels within the PMS Clan Discord server. Unfortunately, because we are limited to 500 channels/categories, as we get more and more squads, squads will get first dibs on space.
The division channels will be removed; however, some of the active game channels will remain for people to LFG and recruit for their squads. Any channels that are inactive for a month or more will be removed.
All divisions will be phased out; however, divisions can stay together by creating a squad.
