More fantastic life

If you've read some of the other posts along this line, you probably know my mother is an insane person.

Let me share the most recent episode. Today, she has asking about my trip to see my girlfriend (that drama has since been settled)

Her questions?

"Does she live in a trailer?"
Me: No...house.
"Habitat for humanity?"

Yeah. Basically down-talking my girlfriend. Very passive aggressive, piss me the hell off ****.

So, she continues, asking me what my college plans on. I tell her I plan to either go to school here in town "practically free, hope scholarship" or that more likely (actual plan) I will move in with my girlfriend and her best friend, and split rent ona small house, take night classes until I have residency in Florida, then go to college there.

She tells me my plan is stupid.

Then comes over, and leers over my shoulder, reading my WoW chatlog. Obviously. I ask her what that was, she says she was looking at the game. BS, she has no interest in games. I watch her start to walk off out of the corner of my eyes, you know, turn my eyes, not my head. She turns and snaps "You have one more time to roll your eyes at me."

Comes in a few minutes later, basically starts hugging and kissing on me, telling me she loves me. I tell her not to get an attitude with me for no reason. She apologizes, saying she is "tired, and i don't want you to go".

I say if I want to go, then it's my choice.

Here's the kicker, we're moving into her fiance's house soon, and he is adding two rooms to it, for me and my brother.

She says, after promptly standing up. "Well make sure to tell me your choice, so we don't waste money furnishing your room"

...........and she ****ing wonders why I plan to leave.

Well by it, your mom loves you in a harsh way. She only cares about your benifit but shows it in a different way. All I can say is that try to talk to her about it and she if she understands. Im not good at giving advice, but just sharing my 2 cents.

aaaaand an update.

So. I'm moving out after I graduate, already established. I tell her of my plans (work full time for a year, while taking a few classes each week to work on my credit, thus being able to afford some class without residency. After that year, work part time and go to full classes.) She first off tells me my plan is stupid. Because I could get the Hope Scholarship in Georgia, but according to her, not if I leave and move back.)

That's not a concern for me. I can fund my classes through financial aid at the school I plan to attend, as well as through scholarships I can easily get (got the grades for it, and advisor at my HS said I could get several easily).

She then tells me that my girlfriend is a bad influence on me, that somehow MY decision to move down there was made by her and influenced onto me. That she wants to talk to me, her, and her friend since we plan to move in together and split rent (3 ways on small place = easy).

I. Am. Going. Insane.

Edit; Also, don't suggest me actually having her converse with my girlfriend. After the **** she tried to pull, threatening her with jailtime for no reason, my gf does not want to speak to her at all.

I don't know what to say. honestly.

hm.....well lemme tell you from experiance,it may sound like its a locked plan but some financial aid does not cover food expenses and if your living on your own that will only give you about 2k up for financial aid, and if your major is expensive it does not cover book expenses, some states are passing a nation wide messure to pull up college tuition books and dorm about 6%, i tried the same thing about my situation long ago and some things arent as easy as it turns out

your situation is exactly like mine was, and im going to say it again, give it time, your parents will soon understand but telling them is the best thing, but you got your mind set on it and i admire your determination, but as a college financial aid counsilar i would say that it isnt that easy, most people go out the year after graduation and about 76% of student go back to living with parents, staying in the same state will give you better chance of getting a state fee waver,

fasfa a online financial aid site will help you with that, but will not cover living expenses, as far as grades, most financial aid could give you aid if your GPA is 2.5 or above

most students are procrastinative about filling all of it out, most student have it all done by now, by the time the paper work comes in shoudl be around june, so really its going on hope alone

but you got the heart its just somtimes the paper will get you, i hope everyhting works out for you, if you need help with financial aid you can ask quesitons, being a Financial aid and student counsilar i can try to give you ask much help as i can

Well, let me outline this.

Not living alone on one thing. Living with two other people, AND working. Food and expenses covered.

The financial aid would just be for my classes, and considering I have a 3.0 GPA, I think I'd get some.

This woman just can't seem to get that. Far more thought out plan than she thinks. But if I know my mother, she'll refuse to talk about it from anybody's point of view but her own.
