So, pretty much we have quite the life up here in Maine. Occasionally driving back at night, we see foxes, skunks, raccoons, sometimes even a porcupine crossing the road!! Today I drove into town, and there is this area with farms around, and this massive female doe deer just loped across the road. It was such an amazing sight
Another time,a few weeks back, around 4:30AM, I hear this clunking, then a screech outside. I look outside, and there is a young black bear that just tore the metal pipe that our bird feeder hangs from right out of our porch!! Bears are EXTREMELY powerful animals Later that morning, I saw a fox coming up our driveway with a baby fox, and ran off into the forest area next to us. Maybe there is a den out there somewhere!I love seeing this kind of stuff, and always wondered...what kind of experiences have you had with nature's glorious animal kingdom? |

a few of the most memorable for me:
1. going 80 from CO to CA while changing a CD and swerving just narrowly missed hitting a Deer...without the Piaa Fogs + HID headlights & Red Bull, i doubt i could've reacted that fast 2. living in different parts of New York was nice...i remember living in Hampton Bays and driving in from New York, there was always deer right next to the highway 3. ran into random critters and luckily, never hit anything as i've seen some major road kill damage (i always remember that you should try to never swerve and should hit the animal) all Insurance companies recommend this since hitting an animal odds are less than if car were to flip off the side of the road its nice you have animals and have such a positive outlook but i hope you got some good headlights because i'm sure you see a lotta roadkill from the sound of it

We on average, get around 1-2 animals on the stretch into town, from where I live. Porcupines, and Skunks are the main ones we see dead on the road lol.

I've had several encounters with the beautiful animals of this world:
1) I was walking my friend back to her flat when we noticed a cat playing with what looked like a leaf. However it smacked this "leaf" into the air and it turned out to be a field mouse, which is one of he cutest things in the world. I ran as fast as I could at the cat, scaring it away. I then stroked the mouse gently to try and calm it down. The little guy calmed down and I led him to the nearest undergrowth. 2) I was walking in the countryside with my family in a wide open environment. It started to thunder, so we ran to the woods. We started waiting for the storm to subside, and we noticed we weren't alone. In the woods, about 100 meters from where we stood was a heard of deer grazing. It was beautiful, I have never seen any creature more elegant and graceful. 3) Squirrels LOVE following me. I don't know why, but they seem to trace my footsteps. I even had one outside my fence this very morning!! Had to wait 10mins for it to move incase it attacked me (there's probably 2-3ft between the fence and the door)

Oh man...living in Tennessee is pretty good in terms of wildlife.
I see deer all the time near my house. I see the occasional coyote, fox, countless possums, turkey, snakes and even saw a baby bear across the street from me. Lol. Nature def makes me happy. Even the scary bits. One of my more awesome experiences involved watching a hawk swoop down and grab a duck at this lake i was at. Me and a whole group of people sat there and watched this hawk devour this duck for about 30 minutes or so. Was an amazing experience. |

Last night, just heard the creepiest coyote howl. We have about 13 acres up here in Maine, so there's plenty of forest wildlife we get to see ona daily basis. Mainly birds on the bird feeder, but that's still pretty nice, just to watch so many different kinds of birds.
