FanExpo Canada 2011

This year FanExpo Canada will be four days starting August 25-28th. It features different expos from comics, anime and of course gaming! They have many special guests and tournaments that will be taking place downtown Toronto, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. By that time I will no longer be a recruit and was wondering if anyone will be attending?! It would be awesome if I could meet up with fellow PMS and H20 members!!!

I usually go! Although my experience last year wasn't all that great. Living in New York, I can't keep my phone on in Canada without experiencing tons of roaming and long distance charges, so meeting up with anyone was ridiculously tricky and I missed a lot of people! Aside from that, lines to get tickets were handled really poorly. The strangest thing was they oversold and banned anyone else from coming up to the exhibit hall... including those already inside but on the bottom floor (which doesn't have doors to leave through nor much but table-top gaming). They essentially attempted to lock everyone down there, so everyone just started rushing up the down escalator (sadly, the most fun I had all day). To add, there were a lot of advertised things that weren't there. The 3ds was the main one I recall that wasn't there. I stayed for a few hours, did a minimal amount of shopping and left. :| But if I do attend (which I likely will if I am free that weekend), it would be lovely to meet some of you as well!

Last year was terrible! They switched the venue to the North Building of the MTCC (there was a medical convention in the South Building) and it was way too small to hold the amount of people who attended... Very bad!

This year it will be held in the South Building of the MTCC, which is much more spacious. I'm not sure if I will attend though. If I do, it will probably only be for Saturday. Last year, I went with my fiance and we both got deluxe passes, but it was purely just to meet Yoshitaka Amano (we were able to get him to sign two artbooks). Aside from that, I wasn't really interested in anything else... Most of my friends go just to loiter around.

Ticket Express is very unorganized but they might sell single FanExpo passes, or you can always just pay at the FanExpo box office the day of.

I've heard mixed reviewes as well from some of my friends. Some had a blast and others couldn't stand it. However, I will be attending and already have my tickets! I'm pretty excited as I also know a few other PMS girls going

The Horror one sounds interesting - I'd really like to meet Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger).

Ya I will be but mostly going for the gaming, there seems to be a lot of cool things this year. What about you?

I think I'm going to attend the Horror and Gaming Expos. Probably won't be purchasing my tickets until the day of.
