need help

okay so i bought the xbox 360 s a few days ago and its connected to my wifi. some days its really laggy some times its not. my ps3 is also connected to the wifi but i never have any problems of being signed out and lagging unless its the host of the room. anyone know what i may be able to do? my ps3 and xbox sits right next to eachother and i dont keep them both on at the same time. also when i go check my networks on my xbox, the wireless network im connected to shows 4 bars. so i dont understand.

The bars is just signal strength not speed. Try resetting your router and modem to refresh the signal from your ISP. The reason it might be laggy is cause a ton of people are using the internet in your area.

I have the same problem using wireless with my 360. Then again my wireless sucks.

okay ty both yeah i just did that and it looks like its okay right now. i just hope that it will work fine off my wifi cause my router is all the way upstairs

Try to make sure not a lot of people are on your connection or don't use your wireless for anything else while playing xbox. You also might want to try moving your router closer to your xbox or xbox closer to router. Some devices between the xbox and the router might be interfering with the connection, like having a computer turned on, using a microwave, using the phone, etc.

That should help, Usually once I sign in I have to log out, test the connection, and log back in. It works fine after that, so maybe just sign out and sign back in

the best solution, dont use 360s crappy wireless. id rather have a 100ft ethernet cord going from one side of the house to the other (ive done it).

word...all three of mine are Wired for both comps and XBox

even prefer wired XBox controller over Wireless because extra battery weight

I hardwire it and use my neighbors wireless for my laptop
