XB connection issues

My xbox magically stopped connecting to the internet,,it connects sometimes, I spent 4 hours on the phone yesterday with XBL and Qwest. XBL had me disable my PnP setting which caused my Xbox to think my NAT is now strict and then I got a DNS connection errors. I lost my internet to everything in the house. Qwest finally had me reset my modem to factory settings and now I am connected. The problem is it still says my NAT is closed and I am afraid to disable it to lose all my internet. Also I traded my xbox out for my husband's last night and 2 hours later when I came back from getting Reach the IP address had actually changed...in our living room apparently set to automatic, the xbox is picking up someone else's IP address..I set it to manual and typed in ours and our DNS..etc.But I was looking at our modems page and I am not sure how to check the ports etc and NAT..We have a Motorola 3347.

i know with verizon if u wanted to check u rports u put ur ip address in athe web browsing bar and use that hit enter
thn a login page appears what only goes in web browser.... EX... 165.23.76.234 but ur ip tht is a random one so no 1 get any ideas haha lol and if ur not sure on ur ip go here
