I'm thinking about subscribing with gamefly. Anybody have any thoughts about the service?

I tried subscribing to them, but it was a complete failure.
For three months, I tried to get games. Not a single one came to my house. Maybe it's because of my location, but I have no clue what was up with that.

I used gamefly for a couple months! I thought it was really awesome. I had games sent to me in MD and PA. It's pretty fast and if they scan it in at the post office, the next game in your queue will be sent to you right away. Only reason you wouldn't get a game quickly is if the demand for it is high and they don't have it, but I did find myself getting games with availability of "very low". Never had a problem with the games or service.

I use Gamefly and I like it, the games usually get here in 2-3 days.

Pretty good service, from where I live, which is in MA. Basically what rizkit said; you queue up what game(s) you want, and they'll send whatever is avaiable in your list. Basically it's like netflix, when you queue stuff up (and i'm not talking about netflix streaming).
Only problem is, if you want to get a specific game, it's not gonna happen, just like with netflix, because of demand. If you really want to get that one game, you'll have to queue up only one game in the queue. Just don't expect you'll get a game, when a new game comes out. Did it for 4+ months I think, then stopped cuz there hasn't been too many games I had to play anymore. EDIT: Really, the service depends wehre you live. So you live in Texas; what I'd do is look around the web, and see what people's experience is for Texas subscribers. |

I did it for 2 months. It was worth it in my opinion. 45,000 Gamerscore later, here I am :P

I have been using Gamefly on and off for about the past 5 years. It's the type of service where you have to be patient or you won't be satisfied with their service. Customer service on the phone is usually pretty good, and the service itself is satisfactory. There was only one time where I had to call them up because a game disc I got in the mail was broken in half. Other than that, overall good quality discs with little to no scratches on them. I'd give it an 8/10.

I was subscribed to them for a few months. I only had one major complaint with them and that's the fact that they just went ahead and took the money out of my debit card when it was time to pay the bill and I ended up getting an overdraft because I didn't have enough money in my account at the time. They talked with my bank and I still ended up getting the overdraft and I just paid it because I didn't want to argue with anybody or be in dept. But, I'm only complaining because that was a pretty ridiculous amount I had to pay for an overdraft. Other than that little issue, yeah I'd say gamefly isn't to bad.
