I love a lot of the music in a lot of Quentin Tarantino's films, especially Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill 1 and 2.

Original Soundtrack: The Dark Knight. those tracks are awesome, Hanz Zimmer knows his stuff.

Regular: no idea, the only one i would say is the one from Accross the Universe but i dont think it counts since its nothing but covers of the Beatles music. so on this ill edit whenever i remember one.

Serenity doesn't have a lot of Piano but it's got a lot of heavy, tribal-ish sounding rhythms. For regular music? Like they said above, Tarantino puts together some amazing soundtracks.

Bear McCreary, Battlestar Galactica soundtracks. Instrumental mostly. A lot of Taiko drums and exotic instruments and vocals, some piano (Kara Remembers), I personally love his string arrangements (Violence and Variations is my fave). If you dig that sort of thing. I think he brought scoring for television to another level. If it wasn't for his music, I probably wouldn't have even bothered to watch the show. Key scenes and character moments would have been pfffft.
Hans Zimmer is also pretty FTW. And I've always loved Danny Elfman

completely agree with that ^^^ my fave was 'Slept So Long' with Jay Gordon from Orgy. I'm a sucker for synth-industrial

Dee Snider's 'Strangeland' had an awesome soundtrack, being that it was all hand-picked by Dee himself. exclusive tracks from Sevendust, System of a Down, and Dee's solo band, as well as a one-off song by Twisted Sister which was really good.. and I dont even like 80s hair metal. also on there was Coal Chamber, Pantera, Soulfly, (hed)pe, Marilyn Manson.. and one of the best industrial bands you've never heard of: Bile

Spawn has an amazing soundtrack too.. mixing metal bands with techno artists.. KoRn with the Dust Brothers, Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine with the Prodigy.. and my fave on that album was Incubus and DJ Spooky's 'Familiar'.. that was Incubus when they were at the top of their game
