Sarcastic Gamer Announces Extra Life Play Games. Heal Kids. Sarcastic Gamer is proud to announce Extra Life, a 24 hour gaming marathon to fund pediatric cancer research and treatment. We are challenging our community and other gaming communities to band together for something big! "My life has been permanently changed by kids battling cancer, and I want to do something amazing for them this fall," says Doc Adams, Founder of Sarcastic Gamer. Extra Life 2009 will take place on Saturday, October 17th, 2009 as gamers from all corners of the globe come together for a 24-hour video game marathon raising money to strike a blow against pediatric cancer. Last year, our first year, Extra Life raised more than $120,000 and was put together in just a couple of months. This year, we’re starting early and throwing open the doors of Extra Life to anyone who wants to have fun while making a difference. We're asking each gamer/hero to find four people to sponsor them at one dollar per hour for the duration. Be a hero! In three simple steps you can make the difference in the lives of kids battling cancer! 1. Sign up at: http://extralife.sarcasticgamer.com/ 2. Select Team: Pandora’s Hope (PMS/H2O Clan members) 3. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you 4. Play video games for 24 hours on October 17 (start time 8am) Direct Link to Team Page: https://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/netcommunity/pandorashope About Sarcastic Gamer: Since its inception Sarcastic Gamer has been committed to the cause of eradicating pediatric cancer. Since 2007, Sarcastic Gamer parody songs and videos have been downloaded and/or streamed more than 8 million times. The site offers its growing community a place to meet and socialize and supports that community with 3 weekly podcasts, editorials, "broken" news, song parodies, and more. Sarcastic Gamer is also a proud member of the GamerCast Network. About Texas Children's Cancer Center: Texas Children's Hospital is an internationally recognized full-care pediatric hospital located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. One of the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States, Texas Children's Hospital is dedicated to providing the finest possible pediatric patient care, education and research. Care is provided for children from around the globe, regardless of their family's ability to pay. About Pandora's Hope: "One day feeling lonely and impelled by her natural curiosity, Pandora opened the box, and all evils contained escaped and spread over the earth. She hastened to close the lid, but the whole contents of the box had escaped, except for one thing which lay at the bottom... and that was Hope." PMS Clan feels that it is important to use our renowned name to give back to the community. In 2004, we created a division of PMS Clan designed to help find ways to donate our time and resources for worthy causes, which we named Pandora's Hope: Gaming for a Cause initiative. Our mission is to help give back to the community by helping raise funds and awareness of notable causes. We can help custom tailor and promote events that help raise awareness and funds for worthy causes, while helping your company brand establish visibility in gaming community as key supporter. All events we do for clients under this umbrella will raise funds for a non-profit of their choice at a venue of their choice. PMS|H2O Clan is also dedicated to organizing and promoting charity causes that others may be coordinating. If at any time you want to make PMS|H2O aware of an upcoming charity event or drive, please Contact Us and we will will try to assist in helping to market, promote, and organize our members to help drive participation and awareness. If you are interested in participating or have any questions please IM or email me at ladyhera@pmsclan.com so I can get a list of participants together. You can either play or sponsor or both.
