Yeah i saw these on a MLGpro thread, Heretic looks freaking amazing. I just hope they were capping on a screen that had a low brightness settings because it looks really dark. I can't wait. Thank you for posting these!

what i dont get is... if you got Halo 3 and you get ODST these become unlocked in 3 or only playable with ODST disc or whats the deal? though i cant wait for Firefight mode though... a nice change from the regular multiplayer since im tired of playing slayer BR's and im tired of seeing Epitaph, Anvil, and Foundry every signle time.

And @Darkknight2k6 ODST is just a campaign expansion with 3 new maps... so it will pretty much just be like a set of new maps coming out and there will be selected playlists that need those maps to play.
Thats my understanding anyway. haha! <3

Here is my understanding on how its going to work.

Mythic Map Pack #2 (Heretic, Citadel, LongShore) will be available via
Halo 3: ODST Game Disc and Download on XBL Marketplace.

When you buy ODST it comes with Halo 3's Multiplayer, that includes the "on disc" maps, like "The Pitt, Guardian, Valhalla, etc." and it comes with all the current Map Packs, "Heroric, Legendary, Cold Storage, Mythic Pack #1, Mythic Pack #2"
Halo 3's Multiplayer, Halo 3's Maps, Firefight (New Horde Mode), and the new ODST Campaign, this can all be played on the ODST Disc. But you CANNOT play Halo 3's Campaign on ODST Disc, you have to swap back to your Halo 3 disc if you want to play Halo 3's Story Campaign. Got it?

If you download off Marketplace, you'll be able to play them normally on your Halo 3 disc like any other map pack you've downloaded in the past.

Now lets say PMS Meow and I want to play the level Heretic together, right?
but she decided she didnt want to buy ODST, so she just download the Mythic Map Pack #2 off the marketplace and shes playing off her Halo 3 disc. but i purchased ODST and im playing off my ODST disc. we both have the map pack, are in the same Halo 3 pregame lobby, can we play Heretic together? yes we can.

Hope that made sense, lol.

why did they use Heretic again. They should of made a new map, would be so much better then upgrading that map with halo3 stuff -_-

The player on Heretic sux at plasma nades and he/she just AR the whole time, lol.
and the players on longshore were like LAN playing, made it look soooo boring, one guy/girl wasnt even playing, he/she was just standing there.... lol.
Hope Bungie have the maps at PAX09, so i can get some testing in. especially want to see how Heretic plays, it make look pretty and like we remember, but does it feel and play like we remember. oh the questions!

This vid of TS Longshore is actually pretty entertaining. Shows a variety of weapons,
which is always good! Sword, Shotguns, Rockets, Hammer, Beam Rifle, Needlers.
Its looks like the map was forged, so i doubt those are the maps default weapons.

That's true for the most part, but ODST actually comes with two discs. The first disc includes ODST's campaign, firefight, and theater, in addition to future access to the Reach multiplayer beta. The second disc is titled "Halo 3: Mythic", and includes the full Halo 3 multiplayer package that you described (including forge and theater).

Also, the three new maps are exclusive to ODST. Anything is possible in the future, but as of now Bungie and Microsoft don't have any plans to release them on the Marketplace.
