Thought I'd share this with you all.. I know my friends have already been getting annoying spam calls on their cell phones already so this is good to know:

Cell phone numbers went public August 22, 2008!




REMINDER.... all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies as of August 22, 2008 and you will start to receive sales calls.



YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS



To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:



888-382-1222.

Or go to www.donotcall.gov



It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.
It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

What never happened? Cell phone numbers getting telemarketing calls? Cuz yeah it does.. my family is kind of in the US and complains about getting calls about their car warranties expiring on their cell phones.
As for releasing the numbers.. that I am unsure of.. however I do know such calls are already occurring. The site seems to be quite legitimate, anyway it's just for info.

idk if it's true that cell phone numbers were released...isnt that like an invasion of privacy in a way...u have to give ur cell phone number willingly...they cant just give it out...can they?


but as for telemarketers calling cell phones...that happens to me ALL the time!!! i actually have gotten that call about my car warranty NUMEROUS times lol so i know EXACTLY what ur talking about anex! lol

Haha i've started calling telemarketers back and hanging up on them over and over again, they get so pissed. Haha feel my frustration a-hole! But there are only a couple that you can call back

Regardless if the cell phone deal is true or not, the donotcall site is very much legitimate. I've registered all of my phone numbers, so. Yeah!

i thought telemarketers arent allowed to call cell phones because you pay for the calls, isnt it illegal for them to call? i kno house phones are allowed since you dont pay but, you can put your number on the do not call list.

As far as I knew it IS illegal (because of the possibility of an emergency etc).. but they are still doing it :/ (calling I mean)
