Lurker?

ok i just got my account to say "Lurker" i guess by posting reply's to threads...well why does it say lurker? i just looked that up and it means "to read or observe an ongoing discussion without participating in it, as in an Internet newsgroup" well that doesnt make sense...i got to lurker by posting...and im being involved by posting...so i dont understand that...can someone please explain this to me...cuz it's makin me feel like a stalker or something hahahaha and how can i change that to something else?

Ya gotta keep posting in order for it to change. To me it's just something that shows how often or how dedicated you are to the site.

noooo just they way it was defined on Websters.com was like "WTF? it sounds like im a stalker" lol like i just read everyone's conversations and i dont participate...when i def participate in the conversations! i had to post to get to lurker...it just made no sense to me... : )
