Why does Activision make some of the choices it makes?!? COD4 showed that people were starting to get tired of the same old WWII FPS...so what do they do? "Let's give it to Treyarch to mess up like COD3 so that we can pump it out early and get more money, rather than let Infinity Ward take its time to put out a qulity product. Oh, and we did so well with Modern Warfare, let's ignore that and go back to WWII again."

*sigh* I know I'll buy it, just like I did COD3...but it'll probably just sit there on my shelf collecting dust after I beat the campaign...just like COD3. I tried multiplayer on COD3 for a few days, but then went back to COD2 to get my multiplayer fix.
Now, I know some really liked COD3, but it always felt substandard to me. This time Treyarch has much more development time with this game than they did with COD3, and they're using the COD4 engine, so there's hope that it may turn out to be a decent game...but I still have bad memories of their last attempt.

I was reading about this its a shame that money is more important to activision. Well that is the drive for any producer but not to this extent where they would potentially ruin the good image this series has for money not to mention letting fans down. From a companies view point its a good money maker 3 sucked but 4 still sold extremely well because of the reviews it got. People are going to buy 5 because 4 was amazing. Its going to sell alot and not cost as much as 4 then they will bring the series back to the quality we would expect in 6.

Like I said I believe the next quality one will be 6 they are saying it will be back to present. They are saying 5 will be fall of this year.

I am hoping that this latest installment will be everything that we wanted COD3 to be, that it wasn't. Using the KOD4 engine will make a big difference.

unlike everyone else im excited that they are doing another WW2 if the rumors are true.
truth is...no one is tired of play COD4, the game is rediculously beast. This will give a chance to the people that missed the WW2 series, while still being able to keep everyone at bay for another year with cod4.
my favorite will always be COD2, and i enjoyed COD3 after the first month of trying to get used to how things played (i really hated it at first, tho the mp44 will never cease to disappoint after how amazing it was in 2)

treyarch is doing, were going back to WWII and it will have co-op and other junk...but its being developed by treyarch...why oh why

know that i think about it they may have there stuff together after seeing what the franchise can do.


my predictions: cod4 will still be the best in the series but they new one that treyarch is doing called "a world at war" may have learned from cod4 and might not suck.. from what i hear there will be a perk system and accomplishments. so will see what treyarch can do....but since treyarch is taking over and not infinity ward, does that mean that there will be another infinity war release in the future. Since as most of you know treyarch originally took over the creation of cod3 due to the fact that infinity ward was doin cod4 so can we say maybe there will be a cod5 in are future. IW style....fingers crossed

if it sucks we will just have to wait to see if infinity ward does anything. and if they do they wont announce for a while after the release. they dont want to take away treyarchs customers

you also got to remember that cod4 took twice the amount of time to do, almost 4 and a half years. they spent alot of money on it..so it will be some time before a modern game is released again

I agree...Modern Warfare was the way to go to compete with the likes of Vegas. I know that there is a LOT of WWII fans out there though that were disappointed by the "selling-out" of COD4. I personally think it is the best in the series, by far!

All the other WW2 games were balls, so when they jumped on the bandwagon of GRAW and Vegas i was all butthurt about it because there was no second choice game of that style. Lets see if they can keep all the good about 4, and play it into 5.

if you go to the video game forum main part its like 3/4 posts under this one, i didnt look at when it was made, but when i searched for cod5, all the info i could find was just rumor mills of what it was going to be as far as WW2 or not.

Basically the COD franchise works like this:

Good Game. (And if we're lucky, a good expansion)
Okay..ish game.
Crap game.
Okay..ish game.
Crap game.
?

And yes, I did indeed call COD4 an "Okay..ish game." It adds nothing new to the FPS genre, is arcade-like in gameplay styles, and feels very not physical.. hard to explain it. Basically it is nothing new, just a slightly more polished piece of "everyone's done that before."

COD1 is, was, and always will be the best in the series.
