About the European Gaming League
The European Gaming League previously known as European Console League is Europe's leading console eSports event provider. The EGL caters for the estimated forty million active, competitive European gamers by providing them with professional online tournaments, a network of eSports websites and spectacular LAN gaming tournaments. This gives our sponsors and partners a unique opportunity to interact directly with this influential demographic. European Gaming League events will attract the top eSports professionals to compete across a variety of gaming genres - allowing participants of all ages, sexes, skills and backgrounds to get involved.

EGL has now hosted four live events at Liverpool, Blackpool, Gadget Show Live & Loughborough were players competed for a share of £60,000 plus further prizes provided our kind sponsors.
As well as a live audience, more than 250,000 people watched the tournaments live at home via the EGL Live Streams. Our Live streams have had over 750,000 views with a further 500,000 Video on Demand views.

About eSports
Electronic Sports, abbreviated e-Sports is used as a general term to describe the play of video games competitively. Other terms include competitive gaming, professional gaming, cybersports and V-Sports.

Games that are considered Electronic Sports normally belong to the First Person Shooter, Beat-Em Ups, Real Time Strategy, Sports Simulation and Racing genres. They are played competitively at amateur, semi-professional and professional levels including in professional leagues and tournaments. Competition takes place both Online and Offline at dedicated LAN Events.

I am definately, in the future looking to bring a team to an EGL event, not only this but the other smaller LANs that lead to this event.
