Hey all
Competitive gaming in Australia has been lacking support due to the fact that there is no "MLG" or "Gamebattles" for this region. I know there are not many Aussies or Kiwis around but please show your support for the growth of Austalian and NZ comeptitive gaming from where ever you are ![]() RGL "Regional gaming league" Is a group I recently discovered to be operating from my home town! I am very excited and have been in contact with the people running it offering my support ![]() They aim to bring competitive gaming to rural areas of Australia where people may be unable to participate due to poor access to fast internet and the distance it is for them to travel to a capital city for a LAN event. Me and some of the other Oceania members have signed up to the community and have expressed our support for this cause ^-^ http://www.sunraysiadaily.com.au/new...e/2582616.aspx http://regionalgamersleague.com/mybb...play.php?fid=1 ESGN Is a competitive gaming group that was started in December 2011. They have hosted a number of LAN events in both Sydney and Melbourne. I hope to play a bigger part with this group as the Oceania team builds and we are able to travel to these events ![]() http://esgn.com.au/community/ Cyergamer.com.au this is an online competitive ladder and we currently have two teams on the MW3 PS3 ladder. A clan isnt anybody unless there on cybergamer in this region.. so its been a fantastic way for us to interact with other competitive gamers in this region. http://www.cybergamer.com.au/ So that it Please get behind these groups! They are pioneering competitive gaming in this region! They need our support for it to be a success ![]() Please post any NZ groups you know off too who are also doing fantastic work below! This region is filled with fantastic gamers too! Dont forget it!

Great info Aussie! So for most competitive arenas, where do they usually put Aus/NZ? I know in SC2 you are part of the SEA region I believe, but never really looked into it otherwise.

Yeah as aussie said above from what I know there are no real international leagues which run leagues/comps in Australia, most of our big names are exclusively Australia/NZ

Hehe thank you! It was really a thread about how different it is here and just explaining a few things
some of this groups are very small and brand new but there goals are the same as so many gamers in this region "we want more gaming events" I have spent a lot of time with the guys behind RGL and there poring there heart, soul and own cash into this trying to get it up and running! So yeah showing support is saying "look we want this too we are behind you 100%!"

OC is supported by Decerto, i know that for sure. There's actually a forum post on there suggesting the Rules Council be outfitted with 9 EU members, 3 Americans and 3 Aussies.

All I know about from Australia is team NV, who have Moonglade for SC2 (nice guy, met him at Blizzcon). Australia/NZ also has some good Dota 2 teams. Sadly you guys are kind of off on your own given the location of your countries. Hard to get a good connection to outside servers which harms the ability to be competitive at the international level(not that the talent isn't there). The location also makes it really expensive for big name tournaments to travel down and bring its equipment. There is some promise though. WCS Oceania was really cool in Australia, and I think they recently started ACL(Australian Cyber League). I full support you guys though and hope the future brings growth not only in Aus\NZ, but around the world.

Thanks.
Yeah i just stumbled across http://www.adversitygaming.com through http://www.cybergamer.com.au which has now opened doors for me. Through these i can compete at LANs and in Online Competitions. So hopefully any other Australian and New Zealand gamers that are on here can find where to go when looking for matches
