Definitely the processor. You should upgrade to at least an 5-core for what you have, because you have fairly nice other parts. Now, I need to know the kind of motherboard, so that I can suggest a compatible processor. Is there a way you can find out?

Best place to buy any computer part? www.newegg.com

I ask myself the same, or atleast similar, question rather often: How do I find out what Motherboard I have..?

I'll look into it and see if I can find out.

EDIT: Is there anything in this pdf-type file that shows it? This is the factory settings of a Dell Workstation Precision 690, which is what I have (Other than a few upgraded pieces) (and although it does contain server-type hardware, it's used as a desktop)

So I haven't found out the mobo model, but I did manage to talk with a rep from Dell who could give me some pointers as to what I can upgrade and what I can upgrade to.

Memory I could go up to 16, 24, or max 34, but the cost is pretty hefty ($400/ea)

Video Card could be upgraded, but from what I gather, wouldn't be too much of a difference

Hard Drive space isn't much of an issue with having 3 hard drives, one of which is nearly 1TB, although I could upgrade one of the other drives to 250gb.
