Re: How you handle YOUR economy..
The layoffs are hard. My fiance just found out that several of the higherups in his region are being laid off. Blockbuster was on Yahoo's list of 15 businesses that may not make it through 2009--that's scary. If bb can't make it, holy cow!
My work is continuing their layoffs, some people I know may be laid off. They said it wouldn't affect retail but we just found out that it is...not good.
We've just talked, <my fiance and I> and we are going to downgrade some things to save some more money. Even if it's only $100 a month, it's $1200 a year we can save.
Cable/Internet/Homephone/Cellphones right now is costing us about $250 a month.... kinda rediculous, we dont' really need 25m download/1m upload on our internet <although we do both play on xbox live at the same time>.... so we could probably save there.
He's getting rid of his blackberry so we don't have to pay the extra for the data plan <i work for Sprint, so we get a discount on his bill--mine is free--but we still have to pay more because of that phone service type>.
Valentines day is Saturday, and I'm debating on whether we should go out to eat, or spend the money at the grocery store! LOL!! Seems silly, but you could buy SO much more for the cost of one night out.
This is just preparation "in case" anything happens. We're okay right now but who is to say we will be 6 months down the road, and we have a house to buy and a wedding to plan for~!!!
