I generally don't read cosmo or seveteen (teen vogue ftw) but i was bored and picked it up so i'd have something to read
Low and behold on the 68th page is an article about Pro Gamers with a picture of the Frag Dolls and about how a Doll named Renelly did it.
I couldn't find it online so i just typed it up
Pro Gamer Renelly, 22, Brooklynn, NY
(she's the one on the right. and FYI this isn't the pic from the magazine, i googled one)
HOW SHE DID IT: "I read about the Frag Dolls, Ubisoft's group of professional female gamers who compete across the country, in Electronic Gaming Monthly. Ut became my dream to be a Frag Doll. But I knew the competition was fierce, so I had to distinguish myself. For about six months, I attended every Frag Doll event that I could in New York area. I was a college sophomore in Brooklyn at the time so it wasn't always easy to get to the events, but i made a point of it. Soon the team members started recognizing my face and knew me by name. They'd even e-mail me to tell me when they were going to be in the area. After two months of going to events, I applied to be a Frag Doll. After the first round of interviews, I was picked as one of eight finalists to go to California for the final round. I'd never flown anywhere alone before, and my parents weren't happy about it. But it was my dream and they finally agreed to let me go. Eventually I had to play Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter and Halo 2. In the two weeks leading up to the interview all i did was practice. It paid off-I made the team! They said i was a skilled gamer, but what really impressed them was my dedication to getting to know the team."
HOW YOU CAN DO IT: "Make sure that you're not just another resume. Meeting the girls gave me an advantage because they saw firsthand how I wanted it." ~Jessica Strul
That was a workout for the fingers,
. If you see the magazine, it's a bad issue so don't buy it buy it unless you want to post the page on your wall or something
