PMS.eu playing GCWT

Ok it’s been a while that I wrote a new blog… This week we played the GCWT cup, I would tell you what it stands for but I have no clue! Too lazy to search it up, we ended 6th to 5th out of 16 teams. This was a cup hosted by a female team. Our group was rather tough because we had to face mousesports which is one of the best European female teams around, it would be a good training and I started this cup with the thought we would end 2nd of the group.

Our first game was against the Polish team FearFactory, because we never really played any female teams yet I didn’t want to underestimate them. The map was de_train, we played it a lot but I had no idea what our level was on this map. Sometimes we owned teams, sometimes teams just walked over us. I was a bit scared and nervous cause I really felt like bringing this game home, which we did. We ended with a 27-3 score and were quite confident for the next game vs mouz.

This game was on inferno and I consider this as one of our best maps, if not best. I hated it in any other team I played with but with PMS I’m in love with it! We lost this game and I felt a bit responsible because I didn’t play my best game. I know it’s silly one girl can’t win a match but some rounds were pretty close and maybe… well I had this conversation over and over with people and they all assured me that I didn’t play all bad, so for my ego I’ll try to believe it! We ended with a 12-18 score. Now we really had to go for the 2nd place in the group!

Facing these French girls was a nice experience, specially because one of them is an ex teammate of mine. We as PMS seem to have the habit in starting out slow, don’t ask me why but it always seems we need to be woken up and that makes us lose a lot of very important rounds. Nevertheless we won this game with 16-14 and we moved on to the next stage, double elimination. I had to go to work… All excited cause we overall made a really good performence and I really couldn’t have thought it would go this good.

Upper braket, for our first game we had to face MYM and when I heared the game had to be played on cpl_mill I was disappointed. I knew we couldn’t give our best cause we simply never played this map as a team yet. It’s a bit frustrating that you finally get the chance to play a big team like this but you know you won’t perform the way you want to. My “nightmare” became real and we couldn’t give them a decent fight, we ended 3-16. Auch!

Next game we had to face mousesports again. Hu? Strange.. we already needed to face them in the groups. In any good organized cup that game couldn’t happen until the final or something like that. I had to keep telling myself this is a good training so I shouldn’t get mad or irritated about this but still I don’t think it was really fair, enough said 10 girls on server ready to knife.
Mouz kind of owned us in the knife round aiaiaiai! We had to play T first, It was quite good actually cause de_train is considered to be a CT map so we would be "in the game" on the other side. When we lost 2-13, I treasured the hope that we would just close our CT side for them and get all rounds.
Restarts and the game was live again, they came, we fought, we lost. 0-1 for mouz but we didn’t want to give up hope bought deagles and concentrated for 200%. To our surprise we got this round! 1-1 mouz needed an eco and we killed them again. This was such an exciting match because we really had to fight for every round! One round more for them would mean a draw, every round we won was ended by chearing! Screaming NICE over ventrilo until your ears hurt! With every kill we got more excited but still we had to give up 1 more round to them, which made us end into a draw. We lost the overtime and ended with a 16-19 score. It was the best game I ever played since a comeback like this isn’t that easy, it’s something you hope for but nowhere in your mind you actually believe it could be possible.

Thank you for these great games girls and thank you to all our opponents! We had no problems whatsoever with finding servers or no ***** talk in any way! This was a nice experience and I hope many like these will follow!
