The Amateur's Mind #1
I have been fascinated by how humans learn for a long time. Over the past several years, I have tried to apply what I know about the learning process to my life, my personal learning, and how it has affected them. My life has placed me as both teacher and learner- two separate dimensions of the same plane. As a learner, I try to achieve higher levels of both competence and proficiency. As an educator, I try to facilitate such aspirations.
The idea of this blog is to bring its readers more in tune with their learning, mind, and self-concept. I hope to help answer some of the global/existential “Why am I not getting better?” or “What separates me from a master?” questions that are surely on the minds of many improving gamers. (myself included) I would also like to share some cool information about how we learn, things that are going on in our brain that we might not know about, and things we can do to increase our ability to learn and improve.
If anyone has any other related things they are interested about, just leave a comment. If I get some support, I'll definitely write some more.
Who died and made me space pope of this subject?
Idk? I have my BS and getting my master's in education. I'm also a student of many games from SC2 to chess. I have used what I know on myself and my students with good results. In chess, I went from unrated to Indiana #74 (out of about 2000) in 2 years while being self taught and tbh pretty bad.
I'm no space pope.
