This is my first of many blogs about my adventures and experiences through Tera. This blog was meant to be started about a week and a half ago but I had some personal and work issues arise. For at least the next month I will be pushing out this blog and possibly vlogs three to five times a week covering my opinions and experiences within the game. I will be using multiple characters with my main being a Popori Sorcerer named Vodka and my alt being a Baraka Slayer named Steroid.

Let me start off by saying the game is absolutely gorgeous. If you have looked around and just seen screenshots, those do it no justice.

When you start the game, there will be an option to play through a short prologue where you will be level 20 with your full skill set that there would normally be at that level. This is your chance to try out the class and see if it is really enjoyable down the road.

After this prologue/tutorial is complete, you will be sent to the starting zone at level one and do all of your normal collect and kill x number of enemy quests. These quests will go relatively quick and help set up the story. Right away you can start mine and gather. There is no initial training required to use these skills and you can begin to hoard materials for your professions.

At level 11 you finally get to leave the starting area by hopping on a Pegasus and flying your way to the first major city in the game, Velika. Arriving here was the moment that I fully appreciated the visual quality that Tera presents. There are quests to go around the city and learn the next set of basics toward slightly more advanced game play and to get your first mount. Yes, you get a mount this early in to the game which for a lot of you will be a big deal. The mount is also an instant summon, so be ready quests to get done more quickly than you are used to in other games.

That will be all for my first basic blog. My next blog will cover the BAMs (Big Ass Monsters) and the first instance, The Bastion of Lok. Then I will give some insight on the classes I have tried and on the game mechanics. If anyone has any questions about the game, feel free to ask in a comment and I will do my best to answer them at the end of the next blog.
