Ok ive noticed driving down the road people who drive in hummers are complete pricks, they use the oversized vehicles and think they own the road, not to mention when theres a group of people riding around they yell out the window at people like complete pricks ~_~
I work at wendys and am usaly put in the back hole (drivethrough) taking orders and collecting money, I had no problems with any customers all day yesterday besides one guy he started his order and orders like 3 combo number 1s 3 large chilis and a couple large frys, the machines kinda slow and he blurted his orders out realy fast so with what what i had on the machine I repeat his orders back to him (with what i had down and could remember) I repeat what I had down back to him and asked him what else there was to order
he finishs telling me the rest of the order and I collect his money, I notice he sat at the 2nd window and wanted a refund on like 20+ dollers worth of food all because he dident get his spicy chicken (when I repeated his order back to him he dident ask for it)
Go and behold this guy, the one guy who I had a problem with all day long was some prick driving a hummer... I don't understand what it is does this vehicles turn people into A-Holes or are the A-Holes just attracted to it?

Except for the fact that if you're hit by a Hummer, you're many times more likely to get killed than if they were driving something a little less excessive in size. (I think the numbers are that they're 7 times more likely to kill in an accident than a sedan like a Honda Accord.)
Oh, and because they're so big, they're significantly harder to drive than a regular car thus more likely to cause an accident in the hands of the average driver who doesn't understand the differences in how they handle.

I've had no problems with hummer drivers. the people I dislike are the white kids that think they're gangster driving Honda Civics thinking they're kool because they modified it and have a sub in it.
Little do they know that Civics are like lego blocks, so modifying the engine is no feat to be proud of. The sub would also be cooler, if they were playing better music.

Forgive me, but the point about it being more dangerous to be hit by a hummer is inconclusive, its the same with other SUVs. And comparing it to an accord is just low. Its like comparing an Accord to a bicycle. They aren't even in the same vehicle class, thus i question that comparison.
And about the part of them more likely to cause an accident in the hands of an inexperienced driver who doesn't understand the diff in how they handle. Its the drivers fault for biting off more than he/she can chew.

C'mon i dont hear those driving it complain. If your BROKE, why would you try buying an SUV that chows gas?. And its not just Hummers, SUVs also chow gas, exotics do, even your good'ol mustangs do(the respectable v8 versions).
Yup i'm also half expecting a debate about environmental concerns with pollution, pls spare me that crap. It still doesn't take away the fact that even your little accords or civics pollute the environment. And while we're on the topic of pollution, why not question our 2-faced govt. about pollution, and how they don't give a rats FunnyBunnyFunnyBunnyFunnyBunny about it.

It's supposed to be an offroad/military vehicle. Why people drive them around town is beyond me. Same thing with jeeps. Everytime I see one without a spec of mud on it I cry a little. It's just such a waste of a vehicle.

Hummers and Jeeps are modified variations of their military brethren, made for civilian use.
True it is a waste if not used for offroad activities, but, it still is upto the owner, what he/she decides to do with it;)

OK, point made - being in an accident with a Hummer probably isn't really any more dangerous than being in one with some other large SUV. Because they're ALL dangerous to others on the road. And there's nothing wrong with comparing the likelihood of being killed by an SUV compared to a sedan - they're both on the road, they're both going to hurt if they hit you, and there's potential for both to hit you. It's completely different than the Accord/bicycle comparison, because a bike isn't even a motor vehicle.
And the fact that they're more likely to cause accidents because of drivers who don't understand how they handle is supposed to make me feel better? Semis make me uncomfortable at times, but I know those drivers are required to get a license to drive them, so they understand the differences in handling. SUVs require no such thing, meaning that most people don't understand the differences. So we end up with drivers who don't get how to control their vehicle, driving a vehicle that's the most dangerous to everyone else.
That said, I wouldn't mind being in one in an accident.
The greatest irony of them all? Crash statistics show that SUVs are the second most dangerous class of cars to be INSIDE in an accident. The injury and fatality rates are actually worse than every other cass of cars, other than small economy cars. Anyone who is buying them because they're "safer" is making a big mistake due to lack of information - of course, the auto companies aren't going to point this out since they make much larger profit margins on SUVs because of the way they abuse the regulations.
I have to admit that I don't remember the details of why they were so dangerous, but that's the result from years of accident data.
Oh, and I remember driving during winter storms over in the midwest. I always loved the fact that a huge majority of the vehicles that would be in the ditch alongside the road would be SUVs and not regular cars.
I know SUVs have their place. There are some people that need them for various reasons. But hauling the family around? Get a Minivan, cheaper and safer. Hauling lots of cargo? Get a regular truck, once again, cheaper and safer. And not a chance in HELL that it's useful for the daily commute.

I remember some dateline special about it. Where through special graphics and science guys and demonstrations they showed how Hummers and SUVs are more dangerous to get hit by.
The Hummer as I recall was especially dangerous. If you get hit on the side, the Hummer's bumper hits you about where the window is. All the protection is in the door. It showed how you were likely to get a bumper in the face.
Same thing with pedestrians. Since a Hummer is higher off the ground a pedesrtian getting hit suffurs more damage to the head and torso areas. A pedesrtian getting hit by a Sedan or similar lower car takes the most damage to the legs.

The sad thing? Your average SUV driver (and I'm not implying this about any specific person) really doesn't care about this. Their safety is more important than the lives of the faceless other person. The auto companies are aware of such attitudes in SUV drivers - more aggressive, not as concerned with how it affects others, etc - and they market that way.
Oh, and for everyone, here's a good article (http://www.gladwell.com/2004/2004_01_12_a_suv.html) about SUVs and their dangers. A few quotes:
"In a thirty-five m.p.h. crash test, for instance, the driver of a Cadillac Escalade—the G.M. counterpart to the Lincoln Navigator—has a sixteen-per-cent chance of a life-threatening head injury, a twenty-per-cent chance of a life-threatening chest injury, and a thirty-five-per-cent chance of a leg injury. The same numbers in a Ford Windstar minivan—a vehicle engineered from the ground up, as opposed to simply being bolted onto a pickup-truck frame—are, respectively, two per cent, four per cent, and one per cent."
"But that's the puzzle of what has happened to the automobile world: feeling safe has become more important than actually being safe. "
