Hi guys and gals!

I'm an old skooler PMS chica looking at getting back into some friendly matches. I'm really not too keen on GB, since I can't even get into my account anymore, and I tried some other site, FragNation, but doesn't appear to have very many active players.

Which ladders do you prefer? Is everyone active on Gamebattles?

Well I think it depends on what game you want to start playing, and at what kind of level. I am not a huge fan of GB either for many reasons, but it overall seems to be the most organized league/ladder system out there of its size. I have used FraggedNation before too, but isn't overly active and I prefer to use it to create my own. There are a few other new breed of sites, but they are kind of geared more towards the whole challenge people for money concept, although they will occasionally have regular tournaments (Playhem, BeyondGaming, VirginGaming, etc). If they support the game you want to get involved in there are some other more serious leagues you can find such as: ESEA, ESL, CEVO, IEM, Alienware Arena and some others I know I am forgetting. But those tend to try to skew to the higher level competition, involve a fee to play, and even still are debatable on how well they are run.

Unfortunately other than that, I think its mostly random grassroots type leagues, some of which can be very good though (see SC2, also Halo griffball and such).

I am sure there are more, but thats what came to my head off the cuff. I think if you are looking for an organized ladder, especially one that may not be the most popular competitive games, GB seems to have the best chance at activity. If anyone has any others though, I would love to hear about them too!
