I heart Guild Wars long time. It is my one MMO addiction. You play regular GW or Factions? I got Factions on release day but I have yet to play it properly. And my ritualist is kinda stuck on one of the missions >_<

I am addict of Guild Wars. I used to have two lvl 20 characters on Guild Wars and deleted them and starting over since they have changed so much. I play Guild Wars and Factions both. I love this game. I thought about playing WoW but due to cost, I rather pay for the game and play for free then pay for playing. I have a lot of friends who play WoW but as of now, I love Guild Wars. I have a Warrior/Monk (20) and Ranger/Me (20). But anyways :). I play that game so if you want to do some quest or anything just hollar at me. My Ranger I have is Feline Goddess and my Warrior is Mydnight Sylver. I hope to you in game :)
:D

Talk to you later :)

I picked up a copy of Guild wars in the local software store the other day, but put it back down, because I've heard how addicting it can be and knew I didnt have the time to spend on it.

But so far what I've read from you guys and others its a great game, and when I get some time I would love to get it.

I've got both Prophecies and Factions. Been playing for nearly a year. It's great because it's not as immersive as other online games (like WOW), so it's easier to step back and take a break because you don't feel guilty about paying monthly fees (GW has none). It's a lot of fun.

If anyone wants to quest or whatever, my in-game name is Khirsah Silgathen. I play a Necro/Mesmer, primarily using a Spiteful Spirit/Curses build, but I can do Minion Mastering if need be. I have other characters, too.

I bought Guild Wars Factions when it came out and I played for like two days and put it down, and recently I started playing again.

I would really like someone to play this game with.

But, beware, I am a Noobie :)

Message me for name.

I am thinking of getting it.

What's the difference between GW and GW: Fractions?

Also, is it really really addictive? Becuase I've been addicted to MMOs before, and summer's just about over, and I really have to concentrate on school this year(I'm graduating, FINALLY!). Can I just like play this game a couple hours when I get home, and be able to not go nuts if I don't play it until the next day? And is farming/leveling up really difficult?

I know in AQ/DF, once you get to a high level it's a real pain to level up.

I think Fractions has new parts to the map that GW doesn't have. There is a newer one coming out at the end of the year, i think.

"Guild Wars FRactions" doesn't exist, but the difference Guild Wars Factions and the original game, now redubbed Guild Wars Prophecies, are: level progression is much faster, Bonus Missions are now achieved by reaching time-based goals, there are Competitive Missions where you compete against another team to complete a goal, and there are multiple party Missions in which you work together with another team to complete a goal, and you can choose a Faction and compete in Alliance battles to gain control of Outposts (cities) on the map.

Leveling up in Guild Wars is much faster than other games, especially if you get Factions. With my Factions character, I was almost at max level before I got to the second Mission. That is not to say that there is no content, however. One of the strengths of Guild Wars has always been that it doesn't rely on prolonged and tedious level grinding before you get to the challenging content.

Mostly because of the cost, but you can play wow for free now on private servers.

I played a ton from launch until about a month after factions. Pretty burned out on it and (for me) Factions made the game a lot less fun.

Nightfall - maybe, I don't know - there is too much other stuff to compete with it. Free is great at first and with GW:P can hold you a long long time - but once you are done, there is little to do and the free parts mean no regular content updates. There is PvP elements - but thats not everyones cup of tea.

I play every once in a while, mostly when I have downtime from WoW(which isnt often) I think WoW is better but GW does have its strengths, as do all MMOs ...just a matter of style really.

I have gone back to Guild Wars, and I am wondering what is a good secondary class to have with a warrior?

I played this game from launch but just like above posts, the content runs out too fast and getting to lvl 20 isn't an accomplishment.

-Oh, I forgot to add, considering how it's a free to play game, there are a lot of young imature kids, mostly ones that like to dance around town naked all day (obviously respect for the female body is lacking).

Pencilposer

Ummmm, respect for the female body is not a very promenant part of american society. No offense

I used to love playing Guild Wars when it first came out, but now it's hard to really play something that takes up so much time. Juggling work, other games, Halo 2's online multiplayer (finally made it up rank 26 in Team Slayer...but man, I need to play with people I know instead of random people), my girlfriend, seeing my parents every once in a while, and so many other things...whew...it's just hard to get into a game that requires you to take a shower in your computer chair.

But no one has answered my question.

for me i never compare guild wars to a MMO since its not one. Im not saying any game is better but here is my comparsion.

WOW is good for PVE and for a mild RPG since u cant hit 60 in a couple of months yet they keep ya playing with the end game dugeons.

Guilds wars has awesome PVP since it takes alot of strat to win which i love.

Final Fantasy XI has the best job system out of all of them and keeps u playing this game for years. Yet it is one of the hardest RPG games out there right now.

Wondering if anyone has Nightfall? I played during the preview event, but am still undecided as to whether or not I want to buy.

I own Prophesies and Factions, only have 2 characters on the go at the moment....a Lvl 17 E/Mo, and an assasin. Love Prophesies, not sure on Factions (I didn't even really want it, but was given to me as a bday present).

I did love the customizable henchies though......and the dervish was a cool character class to play (love the scythe!)
