400+ hours. Bought it for my new PC aswell as the 360 just so I could mess with the construction set. Unfortunantly I can never really get the hang of using a program to get the flat texture images for meshes. It confuses me greatly. .Nif's are my enemy.

I beat it so I'm done with it, gets really boring once you're done everything you can see...I mean I'm not going to walk around for hours looking for people to talk to who have quests, last time I played was when my friend did a sub-quest (wasn't listed as an actual quest, just kind of a neat thing put into the game), and he told me about it.

Oh and if you want to know what it is, go to a place called Dive Rock, it's east of Bruma (the mountain city), and it's the highest landmark in the game. It's fun to jump off of and see how far you can make it. Or take a horse and help you get that little bit more!

Anyway, there's a journal in that campsite, read it and have fun!

I clocked in just over 100 hours into that game, it's terrible! It sort of consumed my life so i'm glad i'm done with it.

I just traded in my copy of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for this game, and so far I'm having much more fun with Oblivion. I haven't really gotten that far with it, and I will have to reroll my character, as it was brought to my attention that Wood Elf Knights suck.

Since I'm so bloody clever I haven't patched the game yet, thought I was going to exploit some cash before I did so ;)

Cheater Panda! Shame on you!

...

Er...
Yeah. On the PC because I was lazy I created a subrace and gave myself 100 speed and 100 destruction and suchnot just so I wouldn't move so slow.

I don't like moving slow.
Here is a tip for any construction set people: Remember if you create a new race to account for the fact that people normally talk to you by your race. If you don't have a race that it recognizes the game can't continue at points.

In the end I think there is a way around it. Make your race have the same talking stuff as another. Or go in and change the scripting probably.

I haven't really bothered checking how to get past it yet as I really just want to change the color of glass armor. By myself. It is so much trouble getting .nif's into photoshop flat.

Oblivion is one of my fav games ever... I put so much time in it I forgot who I was... When I first started playin it was like all I could think about get home play oblivion... haha... Does anyone ever use any of the classes they already have on the game... cause I always create custom classes...

I do. My major character was basically.

Race:Breton.
Birthsign:The Mage.
Class:Mage

I didn't feel like making anything different and I wanted to be a pure mage. So I was.

i put well over 250 hours into morrowind the first time i played it, then played it a second time for probably around 150 hours...

and i just got Oblivion today actually, but unfortunately, although my specs are more than what is required, my video card is giving me trouble and i can't even get the game to launch...keep getting an error that says "failed to initialize renderer" which the oblivion website pins on having an outdated video card, but mine is an ati radeon x800...so i'm not really sure what the problem is... :(

I love Oblivion, I don't own it, I've just been renting it. I played Morrowind though, so I'm prepared, lol.

My character is a level 13 "Hero" class, Imperial. I made the Hero class, it actually has a lot of useless skills in majors, Armorer, Alchemy, Alteration, Mysticism, Light Armor (I wear Heavy Armor), Restoration, and Illusion. But for my character I focus on my spells and combat skills, my Blade is 100 and my Conjuration is 100. I power-level, sorry if that offends anyone.

I also love playing it at night and going into caves and dungeons and scaring myself silly.

I haven't done any of the main quest since I first started playing the game when it came out. I was exploring at first, and now I'm taking care of all of the guild quests and such. After almost 90 hours, I'm still not ready to do the main quest yet. I'm having a blast doing everything else.

I've finished the Thieves Guild (hardest last quest ever), the Dark Brotherhood (most original quests, loved them, if a bit cold hearted), and the Arena (yawn, beat all the enemies so easy it should be considered a sin). I'm working on my Mages Guild now, building up my spells and abilities, and then I'll finish with the Fighters Guild.

I've got full Ebony armor, ebony sword, and a few other nice items. I also have the Gray Fox's mask (you get it at the end of the Thieves Guild Questline).

Rambo Rachel
06-27-2006, 01:23 PM
I'm like you Gypsy...I do everything. I'm actually avoiding the main quest to do everything else eventhough I'm right in the middle of it. I also enjoy just riding around and seeing what I can find (Shadowmere is awesome - she never dies! HAHA!). Currently, I'm going into all the Oblivion gates that pop up, taking all the items from there, and then selling them to buy all the houses and items I desire. My character is at level 30+, so all the enemies in the gates cower before me, and because of that it gets a little boring sometimes. I have all the faction quests done except for half of the Mage's and Fighters...I'm going through the Fighters now, which is probably the most boring out of all of them...

I bought it the day it came out and have loved it ever since. Maybe when I actally finish it (whenever that is) I'll buy the extra levels and features for the game.

Also, does anyone here have the collectors edition? It's pretty cool! :D

I hated being a vampire at first. But I got use to it. If you drink someones blood often then you can go out in the sun and the hunters sight is very useful.

But if you don't want to be a vampire, I'm not sure about the flowers but you can find garlic in an inn or tavern.

Well Elder scroll 4 was one of the best untill that update they made, which toke the game down the dump, somethings would be, VERY LONG loading times, some swiches don't work which now i can no longer play the game because im in the last mission in the theif guild which is the GREAT robbery of the elder scroll, andthe vampire cure quest does not work for me, the old hag says the same thing over and over again which is " o you still need 10 this and 10 that, even tho i already gave that to her, another thing would be in the fighter guild in a mission where i have to bring down the blackwood company, so i have to follow this dude to a ruin and no one is there so we go a little more north to this other ruin, so i do that and like in 5 mins we are there and then there some bad guys with sword doing not so nice things so they get their jail time or K.O. time that is, then i get to the second floor see and like the swich behide this little gate won't work, so im like oh bummer dude, this sucks. so i do the mage guild quest line and get that done which is like cooooooooooooool, altho.... Why the muck does the arch mage dude ++++ him self???? talk about wack. o well and one more thing altho this one is SWEET i got like infinite lock picks, shibby. To think, they did all of that just so they could take out the money glich. Well i think it is still a superb
game but i hope they fix it fast man, its like having to wait for the nexted ep of your fav tv show. Well if any of you need help with the game im like the wiz of it, i know where all of the shrines are and how to get stuff.

What do you do with the Unicorn Horn!

CaptainDemon
07-21-2006, 04:04 PM
Actually Zion, that is the last "mission" the "go-here" thing right after it is just storyline to give you some closure on the guild, all of guilds have them. For instance the last Dark Brotherhood mission involves

SPOILER ALERT

going to see the Night Mother herself, defending her from a traitor, and subsequently becoming the Listener, and getting paid 200g a week to go to her statue each week and giving it to the Speaker of the Cheydinhal Sanctuary.

END SPOILER ALERT

So you can see how something like going back each week or just getting something cool (e.g. Theives Guild) is not really a mission but a perk of the questline and an attempt as some closure.

You can find garlic in stores, in loot or even in peoples homes laying around with other food. Nightshade you can find in the wilderness halfway between Bravil and Skingrad.
If you´re only infected but not yet a fullblown vampire all you need to do is pray in a temple or drink cure disease potion. :)

For you and Black mamba - I would say that the longer you wait the tougher the main quest gets - as you (and the monsters) level up - the NPCs do not - so they tend to die much more quickly and aren't much help.

How do you dupe your inventory? I got kicked out of mage's guild. :(Straight off of Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com):Item Duplication(Pre/Post Patch)
1. Pull out any weapon(including fists)
2. Attack(Pull right Trigger)
3. Switch to inventory before attack ends(B button/red)
4. Equip any set of arrows and press A until a message, "You cannot change weapons while attacking" appears.
5. Drop Item you wish to Dupe
6. Exit Inventory and collect Duplications.

Note:
~The following cannot be duplicated; Stolen goods, one-of-a-kind items(Normally named something), Nirnroot, & Quest Items.
~The number of arrows in the set you equip will be how many the item becomes(at least)

whoever said they got kicked but don't think they can dupe other plants, you're wrong, they can be duped. You must not be doing it right, just follow the instructions Panda posted to the letter. I accidently made like 87 silver longswords cause I dropped the wrong item, and they probably got eaten by the loot bag.

To newbies: the loot bag is Oblivion's way of getting rid of dropped items that make the game lag in framerate, so it goes to the loot bag and is subsequently perished if you don't pick it up from the loot bag, and chances are it'll already be eaten. It's on the Waterfront district, by that long bridge thing that goes from the waterfront to the tower thing in the middle. Right up the stairs it should be partially in the ground, granted that you've dropped enough stuff.

Gaviteros

CaptainDemon

^I only dupe when I don't have the patience to get alchemic ingrediants or pelts for the mage's/fighter's guilds respectively. Only have to get one item of each and 20 arrows, it reduces the hastle, especially if your like me where you have to get Daedra hearts, where it sucks cause then you have to go into Oblivion gate after Oblivion gate to kill Dremora in order to rip out their hearts. It's so much faster my way :)

and for a faster route to the loot bag, just instant travel to the Waterfront district of the Imperial City and look down, it should be at your feet.

i have 3 characteres on 3 different accounts, their lvl´s are 5, 18 and 34.

On the theives guild im supposed to go talk to a maid Hlidara Mothril for info, but everytime she has been murdered by road bandits before i get to her. I keep trying to catch her before she gets killed but it´s useless..lol And the beggars keeps telling me to go see her..annoying! On the other characteres she was perfectly alive both times. Whats wrong?
I can make a shortcut and ignore this of course, since i know what will happen and what to do..but i wonder why this is happening?

I think my character was a level 23 when I beat the story. A couple of my major attributes turned out to be things I didn't use, so that hurt a little.

Did you finish all the side quests?

Almost all of them. I left a few behind, and I didn't do the Mages Guild stuff. I was going to save that guild for when I did a new character. I want to go through it again with a magic character.

I did all the guild quests - I have a few odd quests left - probably a few I never found as well.

I did the mages guild with my stealthy sniper - it was tough because on the few post where you need magic - you have to make due with scrolls. It worked out though. I did make a level 1 tank specifically build for the arena and only used the character for those.

Wow, i feel like such a newbie, even though i've got over 100 hours playing. I'm still a level 15. I saw on the xbox forum someone was at level 51. So they are probably still playing even after finishing the game? Not sure.

It really depends on what you do in the game. Also, if you were like me and had a couple of your major skills be things you never ended up really leveling up, you will have trouble getting a high level. The level is only a number.

There are ways to actually "cheat" your way into a high level, such as having Restoration being one of your major skills and just sitting there healing yourself over and over again (and with other skills as well).

I know I do - and from time to time I still enjoy an evening wandering through Cyrodil - You can even add on a few quests from the market place if you are totaly done.

You'd probably need a guide or something to know all the side quests. There are some major lines (guild stories) after than the main quest though - I assumed that was what she meant.

Like Lima said, the only real way to know that you really have done everything there is to do in the game is the guide. A site I found also lists them. I can't confirm that they have every quest listed, but they seem to. The Plugin quests at the bottom of the page are the ones you would buy on Xbox Live Marketplace. The link is below:

I think i'll start playing this game again.

I got so entranced by the atmosphere and the side quests that I never wound up doing a single main quest mission.

I need to make a more straightforward, hack n slash character.

I was having so much fun with the side quests and guild quests that it was probably at least 90 hours before I did the main quest. While I thought the main quest story was well done, the other stuff was great.

I was a hack and slash character. Now I want to try the other side of combat and be a magic character.

Actually, now that I think about it, I might invest time and become a magic weilder as well. I've never tried to magic side of any game, when it gives you the option.

any one do the glitch were you save a game in the wizard tower you downloaded and then deleted the tower? I know its been done before but i did it and loaded the game and spawnd in a black room and was falling,to my left i saw a house i went into a the house and when i left through the door in the house i was in a circle of houses, 3 of them you can enter. One has a sigil stone in it and when you pick it up you will get about 30 stones and if you stay in the room they will keep coming till you cant walk anymore. i was holding about 1000 pounds before i left, i was next to the door thats how i left. when ur out side if you look on the ground you will see a weapon called the mace of doom or something like that, its pretty awesome but its in the blade area for some reason and my guy is good with blunt weapons. Its better to save in the garden of the tower.
