It's been a long time in the console world and I am just now getting into Quake 4, HL2, and CSS... and I am asking for your help. If you want to play, my username on PlayLinc is MaryJanePMS. Add me!

PlayLinc is an awesome application that allows us to build teams, use Verizon's servers to host, voice chat, manage our games, and so much more -- pretty much everything a gamer could ask for!

Not to mention, everyday until the 29th they are giving away an Alienware PC!!! (50 total!) :D All you have to do is launch and play a game through PlayLinc.

Help to make an awesome community grow! Plus I really want some feedback as to how to make it better and to get more gamers informed of the amazing capabilities of PlayLinc... including all my wonderful peeps here! :)

P.S. It even can simulate a LAN between Xbox's... pretty freggin' sweet, and way easier for Halo1 that XBC.

Subject Number 4 is my Playlinc, I only used Playlinc once since I was in the Half-life 2 Deathmatch Tourny for Verzion. After that hardly seen anyone on it, so I stopped using it, but you if you want to play CSS and HL2 deathmatch. Just send a message.

Playlinc to me is liek something compared to Xfire, both virtually the same thing but 2 different ways it works. I am a bit annoyed that you need to start a game through Playlinc to record it but I do admit it has sum nice features.

I stopped using Playlinc, because it won't let me add CS:S to the list of games I own..

That's weird, did you go to Manage Games and then "Scan for games"? It should work... let me know.

I think Playlinc is a great client, but unfortunate it doesn't have anything I need. I've got Xfire and IRC (and thats what all my friends use), and I dont think if I told all my friends to use Playlinc that they'd be open to the idea of converting. My team also pays for its own CS server, too, and the quality is a lot better then what a free playlinc can offer.

Basically, playlinc is a good program.. but its nothing that i'll ever need. Xfire is on a roll- No matter how much press Playlinc is getting, Xfire is the powerhouse right now and it will be for a long time. I wouldn't count on seeing Playlinc take off :/.

PlayLinc is a great client, and does offer all that you said you use in one. The severs are of the same capacity (high-speed servers in the Verizon network) and you don't even need to have Verizon as your provider to have the exact same ping as the servers you would buy.

I think if more teams used it for practice, matches, etc. people would find it very useful -- especially for teams and clans. :D

No, i've done that over and over and over, and i've even tried to manually show it where it's at, and it won't load it.

I have playlinc, but haven't really used it. Xfire does exactly what I need and nothing more - I like it that way.

Playlinc seems to promise way too much, and some of the features I'm skeptical of. I'll wait and see how well they can deliver on those promises. It doesn't help that there is very little information on their website.

Is there a way to permantely disable the intro when you first load playlinc? And maybe a way to start in the minimized interface (same basic look as Trillian or the Yahoo IM client)? If using the simpler interface, can I see what games my friends are playing like I do in Xfire, and automatically join their games?

When using the buddy list, I haven't found a way to display all buddies including offline ones. I click "show all" on the buddy list, but it only shows buddies that are online.

How exactly would they support consoles?

When it comes to the servers, it's a matter of wait and see for me.
How stable would they be?
Will there be enough servers to satisfy demand?
Is there going to be a charge to use those servers?
Dynamic server launching sounds interesting, but I want to wait and see how they do it.

Why do they use both AIM and ICQ names? Using two different IM services strikes me as odd. How would someone with an AIM account communicate with someone using an ICQ number?
Heck, why do they use login names from another service in general instead of letting users create their own separate login?

Any other options are already present in Xfire, and from what I've seen Xfire does a better job.

My xfire is 0strabo0 - add me!
My playlinc name is SaphiraPMS.

Awesome comments girlie... thanks for the input, much apprishiated.

As for some of your questions, I don't exactly know the answers, but I will look into it for you.

And Blue... :( That's too bad and I am going to see if Jay can figure it out. He's awesome like that and knows all. ;)
