View Full Version : I Need Help Making My Christmas List

Well, I need a bit of help completing my Christmas List (yeah, I know, I'm a lil late). Santa didn't put enough commercials that forced me to impulse buy this year, so I'm still a little baffled about what I want.
*MY CHRISTMAS LIST*
1.) World of Warcraft
2.) Tony Hawk's Project 8
3.) Gears of War
lol so far that's it.
I've also got some questions:
In Gears of War, I've been hearing lots of mixed opinions, and can never find it in the rental stores, so I haven't been able to try it out for myself. Some people tell me that it's amazing and I should quit Halo and play it instead, but others say that the multiplayer's bland and that all the levels are the same, so it's not worth buying. I need more opinions.
I need some suggestions for good gifts and what not, so I can get a good idea of what's out there. HELP ME! :(
just get GoW, it'll probably be worth it.

But what if it's not? Then I'll be one sad little boy, and most likely cry myself to sleep for the rest of winter break,which = not cool. :(

the campaign is kinda short but its addicting. And when u go for achievment its pretty fun. The muliplayer is kinda weird but once you get used to the controls and stuff and how to use the weapons its pretty cool. I definatly dont regret buying it.

Plus if you're getting it for Christmas... then it's not you are paying for it.

You make a good point. But I've always been the one that's into really sensible shopping, so I always have that part of me that's saying "Hey! It's not worth it!" whenever I'm buying something.

hah **** you. Anyways i haven't heard really much downfalls of it besides the fact that there are alot of glitches in it. Well not alot but compared to other games it has a few more. It has some same concepts as halo though. Host advantage, crappy shotgun(although its better in GoW but not god enough) 4v4, human and alien(alot hate the alien which are called locust and i dont think theres any disadvantage between the 2)
I'll explain the multiplier to help you out.
Both teams (COG and Locust) start on 2 different sides. They basically run at each other while trying to get the power weapons at the same time. When the round is over they switch sides and do it all over again.
So its concept its repetitive but which games aren't? Halo's is kill up to 50 and then ur done. So i dunno. I guess renting the game works the best. I'm just saying, if it wasn't worth it then why did they go through so much to promote it big and even announce it being a trilogy?( I know that doesn't mean anything since some people hate halo but you get my point)

I would definetly put Gears of War on that list.
Look at it this way..........if you really don't like it.....which I doubt will happen but if it does, you can trade it in!! Not sure where you're from but the trade in value on Gears at EB Games here was $45.00
Viva Pinata is great as well!

WoW IS evil, but then again, Halo took a pretty large chunk of my life as well, and it's a game that seems to be suitable for everyone lol.

i rented it, but im about to go buy it
My dad hinted that he was going to get me a 360 for christmas, then my mom told me he wanted to get me a Wii instead because it was cheaper. I wouldn't use a Wii as much as I would 360. Does anyone notice the flaw in my fathers' logic?
