check all your connections and even switch the card to a different PCI port if you have an open one.

Check to make sure your computer is truely booting up. I once switched my RAM and the harddrive was not starting up so I kept getting the blank screen. If you motherboard has an onboard graphics card you may want to boot up without the card, see if you can get into BIOS

Try a different video card in the same slot. If it works, its your video card.

Try your old ram. If it works then your new ram isnt compatible with the board or is DOA. If it doesn't it might be a certain ram slot

Try clearing the motherboard CMOS. Some have a button for it on the mobo others you have to shut off your computer and take out that button battery on the board for like a minute then put it back in.

Computer troubleshooting is a pain. Good luck.

16 gigs is a ton of ram and only the upper mid-high class motherboard can use it. And why 16 gigs? I'm only using 8 and I barely use them.

Mobo limit nowadays is 32Gb max with 4 8gb each.

I guess one question would be what mobo you have.

And what OS too.

Exactly, what I said. I stated his motherboard might not be able to handle it.
So yeah....

OS shouldn't matter, he can't even boot up, and plus you can have 8 gigs on XP 32bit and it will only use 3.8 gigs (not sure if right number). But you can still boot up okay.

Dude, you don't understand my rage when I got new ram and it wouldn't work on my computer because of the motherboard. It's the most complicated part of the whole system.

When i first upgraded to Sandybridge my Mobo died on day 30. -.- Got a new one and that was DOA.... and i also accidentally fried my old system so i was stuck on a netbook for a good 3 months -.-.....

When i mentioned OS i just figured that in case hes running on XP or something or 32 bit. Just to make sure that his final setup can read all 32gb

You should always check with an experienced computer builder before purchasing computer parts. Even if things work, you have a ton of factors to consider. I'm sure a computer engineer could even get into the minute details of data bottleneck and component affinity. Sometimes even the best RAM or CPU won't perform optimally if parts don't have affinity despite compatibility with each other. I'm sure I can build a computer that benchmark higher than others for an even more budget price. But the best advice I can give you (since it seems that you've solved the problem already) is just to make sure all parts are at least compatible before you make a purchase.
