I'm so sad. I want to be on there right now playing GoW. But no... it keeps saying "unreadable disk"
:( :( :( :(
that is so depressing. I would hate it if my xbox died, but I'm grounded, so that's basically the same thing. :(

Are u sure it's the xbox itself? Or the game?
I was getting a few of those errors with Oblivion......and one of the games had a big *** ring around the game (luckily that was a video store rental). The next one was fine.
Maybe try renting Gears or popping in another game to see if that's the problem?

Yup, i'm certain it is the xbox. I popped in about 5 other games and the same error kept popping up. I tried turning it off for a while with no cd in there, but nothing.
I think it kind of started last night, when i was playing GoW, it froze three times.
The poor thing has met it's demise. It wasn't even a year old.
It's so sad when they have defects at such a young age. :(

If your 360 is placed vertically, make sure the disc is in place in the CD holder, and not slanting a little bit. My 360 keeps giving me the error whenever I try to play GoW, but I just eject and straighten the disc...and my 360 is only a month old.
If that's not the problem, your 360's dead.

Check the date of when it was made, if it's made in 2005 repairs are free. You just have to pay for shipping there.
This seems to be the latest problem with people, and it seems my 360 is doing it too. I've gotten three dirty disc errors, half a dozen freezes and whenever I turn on my 360 with a game it usually says Play DVD instead of game. If you do push Play DVD, it goes to a screen that says, "Please put the disc in an Xbox 360 console". Thanks error!
A lot of people are blaming it on the firmware update that came out in the fall, that's when some people's 360's started messing up.
I'm going to send mine in soon, but I'm going to refuse to pay shipping since it's ****ing ridiculous that such a high-end electronic has so many issues with it. It seems that QA aren't doing their job.
But of course before I send it in I'm going to get the 7 day survivor in Dead Rising :) and other abusive achievements as well.
