Bottled up inside
Are the words I never said,
The feelings that I hide
The lines you never read.

You can see it in my eyes
Read it on my face,
Trapped inside are lies
Of the past I can't replace.

With memories that linger-
Won't seem to go away,
Why can't I be happier?
Today's a brand new day.

Yesterday's are over
Even though the hurtings not,
Nothing lasts forever
I must cherish what I've got.

Don't take my love for granted
For soon it will be gone-
All you ever wanted
Of the love you thought you'd won.

The hurt I'm feeling now
Won't disappear overnight,
But someday, somehow
Everything will turn out all right.

No more wishing for the past
It wasn't meant to be,
It didn't seem to last
So I have to set her free.


I wrote this after my best friend was killed.

It is a very sad but yet very beautiful poem. Sorry guys, someone wanted replies from someone besides me so I took a little break. Well, back to the poem. I can tell she was a very good friend of yours and that you hurt badly after she killed herself. Writing a poem is a great way of expressing your emotions and letting some anger or sadness out.

I wrote so many poems after she died and now 9 years later I seem to have trouble writing poems. I guess she really influenced me into writing.
