I'm watching Drewbie's stream and it looks like there's a new T meta out there. 2 GM doing the same build basically. It starts with a rax into 6 marines, then go tech lab factory for BF hellions. Then build 2 starports, build a reactor, put it on the factory, build another reactor for one of the ports and then pump BFH, Vikings and Banshees. Get cloak. After making 3 or 4 banshees, switch to ravens. Build 5 or six of those, then go back to banshees. By the end, drewbie had 5 starports, 1 reactor 4 tech lab and was pumping banshees. His opponent tech'd up to thor in the mid game, drewbie countered it with PDD banshee and hellions. Didn't know 10 hellions could kill a thor, but they can. Anyway, my gut says it crushes marine tank. Hope this helps you guys :)

That sounds like a interesting game plan. It seems like the metagame of TvT is moving toward mech (bfh, tank, viking, etc.), at least in the GSL. This strat looks it was designed to hard counter mech builds.

It would be interesting to try to play as 'sky style' to see how it feels. I'm not patient enough to build up a mech army and I think it would take too long for me to build up a sky army also. :D I like pumping mass marines and marauders with tanks in my TvTs because I can build up an army really fast and it's relatively mobile. But, it's still fun to experiment with different styles and see what works.

WOW tried it out somewhat, (winging the build). This works wonders. who knew that i could snipe a PF fortress (with turrets) with just a few banshees, and who knew mass bf hellions can kill thors, tanks looool

here is a replay where i first tried it, must watch!

Ok, so I watched your replay. Nice win :) One thing I noticed you did that drewbie didn't is that you split up your army a lot. Pretty normal thing to do when you have hellions plus tank marine or banshee plus tank marine, but when you're going hellion/banshee, consider them a single army. You want your vikings to always be with your banshees and your hellions to always be underneath your banshees. Also, you were careless with your banshees. Do a little mineral harass, reactor harass, etc, but when they scan run away. Don't stay in and try to do more damage. The higher your banshee count, the more you can focus on vikings, and once you dominate the air with your vikings you own the ground with your banshee/hellion.

I'm glad you like the strat man. GL!

Bunkers are miracle workers, you just have to scout your opponent and position a few marines along reapers possible entry points and your fine :D
