GOW MP Strategies

I had some questions after playing a week online with GOW. I have the maps down, basic strats and all the workings of the weapons (sticky nades etc.). Buuut, I want to know exactly where I should be aiming with which weapons.

So far... I'm thinking:

Long range = Machine gun - Headshot aim ( or legs?)

Short range = Shotgun - Headshot aim ( or neck... or legs....not sure)

Pistol = ?

Also, in the SP you shoot at the Locust's legs to bring them down...I don't think this idea applies to MP? Any input would be appreciated, along with any other tricks. For example, one PMS player told me to turn off the extreme content to reduce blood splatter, seems logical.

For long range I generally go with the Hammerburst (Locust gun that fires in bursts). It has higher damage than the Lancer and better accuracy.

Short ranger of course go shotgun, and I generally use the snub from the spawn (starting pistol) since it fires quick, which is what I need if I'm down to a pistol.

And the best thing to do is just go natural with it. Dont think. When I think I mess up, just feel with your gut lol what weapon to choose. Thats just my two cents.

Dude the other day was so sick, I enter a public player match and in 3 rounds i'm running on 12 kills 11 downs, the games first to five so for the last two rounds I lay off a little and let some of my teammates see some of the action (They were actually bigging me up when I got like every kill on every round, they were loving it but I said i'd slow down a little)

So anyways we win the game, and back in the pre-game lobby the host (who happened to be on the other team) says Strite, your too good for this game, and kicked me, like WTH! lol.

Just thought i'd share that, see not every gamers a nice gamer ;) watch your back and DON'T... TRUST... ANYONE!

Ack! I have yet to try the multiplayer yet ( Strite offered to help me out, but I've been so busy this week and my daughter has taken over the 360 for Viva Pinata).

Was thinking over hosting a game sometime over the weekend to get the feel of it. Anyone interested? Anyone like me who has not yet tried it? Or anyone who is experienced and doesn't mind helping out? :D

I spoke to someone about shotgun (they were disgustingly good with it) and they said they don't use target cause it slows them down too much.

It definitely slows you down when you target with the shotgun. You're much better off not using it. Maybe when you sneak up on someone and want to guarantee a headshot, but even then I wouldn't bother. If you get close enough, you can just blow them up with a body-shot.

JennyGrrl, with so much going on, I forgot to send you a friends request even though I said I would. :) I'll try to play and help out if I'm not in a division practice.

And I don't aim with the shotgun either, practice enough and you get pretty damn accurate with it just shooting from the hip.

as far as strats go...im either a sniper or a rusher, either way i usually get at least 2 kills a round. so as for sniping, i dont really want to give away my secrets :P lol but as far as rushing...if you can rush grenades, i only do it on a couple maps, but its deffinatly a guaranteed kill, also when rushing you (at least i do) want the shotgun out and ready, i find scoping in with the shotgun useful when i rush up on someone, however when its a grudge match between me and another shotty i just fire away.

For me I generally use the shotgun for short rang and pistol for long range. The only times I use automatic gun is to chainsaw someone. I find that with automatic guns it takes to long for me to kill them.

For shotgun I dont generally try and aim for any specific part, But I ussually shoot them somewhere around the chest, That ussually gets them down and sometimes it pops their head off depending on where the bullets go. And also a lot of people probably know this but incase you didn't, When you have a shotgun and it has the big square as crosshairs, That means that the shotgun shells will shoot anywhere within that square, It ussually goes near the middle of the square but it depends if your running, What pace, What direction and etc....

Hellf1sh, you are really good at this game! I loved playing with you last night. Medium - Long range, I use the machine gun, but I usually like getting in close and switching to the shoty. I really need practice with the bow and sniper!!!
