Yo im using another computer now cuz my laptop is being stupid make me want to (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ well i did already but anyways back to the important thing
so yesterday my computer suddenly go black screen and shut down and restart by itself and it automatically went to windows startup repair (i have windows 7) yea so i do dat and its like hurr durr we cant fix it and it give me option to send report or no send either way it make me restart or shut down computer and then every time the laptop reboot it always starts off with "windows starting up" for like 2 seconds, then suddenly it turn into the old fashion letters that are gray and says "windows loading files" and gray load bar finishes and then it forces me into startup repair again.
So i googled up how to fix dis while simultaneously (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ing and it said do dat safe mode yo so i spam click f8 in the beginning of boot and it gimme option to do dat safe mode so i click it and wadda ya know it does dat gray loading bar again and forces me into startup repair.
Of course, more (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ ensued.
So then i am at the startup repair and i [x] out the send error report or not box and i see "advanced system recovery options" and the options are "startup repair"( F dat i not gonna use dat), "system restore" (i tried it and it no work still force me into startup repair), "system image recovery" (wuddat?), "windows memory diagnostic" (???), and "command prompt" (idk how to use command prompt"
so like now im stuck. please help me y'all i come to you people cuz I trust y'all and y'all is like mah family and always halp me so like pleeeeease halp
i cant stop (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ing its just so fasldjkf;sadfkljasidfjasioef right now!! T_T
tl;dr
my computer keep go to startup repair when i boot it up i try so many thangs it no work and safe mode no work either it send me to startup repair halp

Did the problem start after installing new software or adding a new device to your computer like a card or something that attaches via USB? Ive had this problem before and it seems to be caused by either a faulty device or corrupt software. I had restore points saved on my computer so I reloaded one of my old restore points and it fixed the problem.
If you have new devices on your computer remove them until you resolve your issue if not your going to want to to the advanced system restore. Its pretty simple just go through all the prompts and let it fix its self. At least thats how it worked for me I also run windows 7.

To remove a new device just unplug it like if you got a head set and plugged it into a USB slot unplug that. Sometimes they short out in the connector and mess with your comp. That sucks you dont have a recent restore point. If you get this fixed you should set it up to do a back up at least once or twice a month.
Maybe try doing the restore from your bios. When the computer restarts hid Del until it brings up a blue screen with yellow lettering. Dont change any of the settings there if you dont know what your doing but looks around for a system recovery or system restore or even repair. If you do accidentally change anything make sure to exit without saving. Your computer will restart and you can try it again. If you loose your antivirus I can help you out in recovering it or getting set up with a new one.

but holy crap its taking a REALLY long time to load especially for windows 7
REEEAALLLY slow
and my antivirus just keeps having an error message.

do you still have your windows cd? you can reformat your HD and start fresh if absolutely nothing is working. Yoll want to go into your bios and set it up so that the first boot device is your cd rom drive and not your hard drive so that it loads the window disk instead of your messed up HD. Follow the instruction on formatting and reinstalling windows. It might take over an hour to do the install but once its done your problems should go away.

Also if it's a desktop, take the opportunity to clean the fans on the case, CPU and graphics card. If the box is shutting down without warning it might be overheating. Get a can of spray air or one of those mini vaccum thingys and go nuts.

Is your version of windows legit? Windows does have a genuine check thing and it will keep harassing you to get a legit copy of windows. But if your copy is legit I dont know why it would do that especially if your cd key and everything are stored correctly. Mebe u was trolling to hard and pissed off a 1337 h4x0r ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok so F-Disk the computer. Can you get into your bios? Your bios is the blu screen you get when you hit del while the computer is starting. Just look around in the catagories for boot order it should have like hard drive floppy cd rom ect set it to boot cd rom first and hard drive second. Save the changes and restart your computer with the windows disk in the cd rom drive. Then format your hard drive and reinstall windows. Everyones bios is different so I cant give you an exact how too but if you look around you should be able to figure it out its not hard. If you need new anti virus or anything PM me and ill hook you up son ;)

okay after like 3 hours of looking for the windows cd, i still cant find it my dad hid it somewhere... on the bright side, he brought home in-n-out! yum :mvclap:
okay every time i am able to boot up correctly, after a little while, the taskbar start menu thing that shows shut down and the arrow for other options, it keeps making me "install updates then shut down" and it was like 60 parts to update the first time and 14 the second time and now as i am typing this it says i need to install updates and shut down yet again, also the first couple of times i was able to boot up i had to reinstall google chrome before it could work and my sc2 is corrupted :( and so now im reinstalling it then i will do the update thing again, booting up still takes a little longer than before, and i was using webroot antivirus with spysweeper but now everytime i try to click it it pops up the main menu for like 2 seconds then it suddenly goes away and theres a little box, same design kind of box as the webroot box its like purple and green and it says theres an error. yeah no sc2 for me T_T

Hmm ok give this a shot go here http://free.avg.com/us-en/download-avg-pctuneup and download the free trial of AVG tune up. It will check your computer for registry errors and corrupt files. Then it will fix the problems it detects but it will only do it once for free. It really sounds like youve got a corrupt file on your computer or something. It shouldnt be updating so much.
Also turn your computer on and go to Start<control Panel<System and security<Action center
then youll see a box that says Windows Update and to the right of it Change settings. Click that and then click the option that says let me choose. Then a Window will pop up with a dro down menu In that menu pick Check for updates but let me choose weather to download and install them. This will stop your computer from updating and restarting all the time and let you fix your issues hopefully.

Sounds like your harddrive is failing bro~! Or the worst case senario, you have some mad viruses that corrupted your system files. But I think its your harddrive failing, if you constantly leave your computer on, or download a lot and delete alot, or transfering of files often then it does a wear and tear to your harddrive.
*editt** windows 7 or not, doesnt matter. A lot of trickster companies would put windows 7 on an old laptop for giggles.

You gotta find your windows disk yo and format your hard drive if it keeps doing it after your format its time for a new hard drive if you can replace the one that in your laptop.
H2O Shankapotamus
08-03-2011, 11:54 PM
okay so now my computer just died and went black screen
idk what spec is or how to find them
so i guess the processor is intel(R)Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6400 2.00GHz
64 bit OS
thats the only important stuff i can find from system properties
nothing is fixed cuz im caught in an endless cycle of me having to update windows and it failing updates and forcing me to update again while using startup repair every time it fails and startup repairs deletes something from my computer every time so yeah its no use my dad lost the windows cd its over :(

Oh wow, umm try blowing into your fan vent, if the opposite entrance/exit spews out alot of dust its probably has dust cake in forcing it to overheat/shutoff. That's how mine was so I opened it up and applied new thermal paste and cleaned out the dust. But beside from that the only other thing I could think of is either a bad hard drive or you need to buy a new OS disc and install it even though technically your laptop is suppose to have a pre loaded OS recovery program. But yeah, your best bet from my experiences is to check if it has dust caked in and proceed from there.
H2O Shankapotamus
08-04-2011, 12:10 AM
i just blowed out dust yesterday
and i just got blue screen of death again and took an hour to get back here
ive literally tried to fix this for 10 hours now to no avail
i guess its time to call it quits
H2O Lav
08-04-2011, 12:14 AM
Did you open up your Laptop? Most of the dust is collected near the thermal base and that's what really effects the motherboard. You have to open it up to actually clean it properly.
H2O ChiefRocka
08-04-2011, 01:29 AM
i seriously think its the harddrive, reason for the updates not saving. Rebooting, having problems. The harddrive has a pin that goes through a spiral coil, its common for it to break down after being used a lot. Blue screen indicates memory (ram) or harddrive.

If that's the case you need to format your Hard Drive and find that OS boot up disc. Because usually what Best Buy Geek squad does is format your HD and install the OS again. Beside from that at least its just a software meltdown and not a Hard Ware defect.
Format HD>>OS Boot Disc. GG, Just remember you can't start the Laptop without an OS so a fore warning to if you Format your HD. In my opinion its the easiest but you LOSE everything.
Don't attempt if you know you're going to mess up...........

you dont need to reformat your HDD for a virus like that. all you need to do is go onto another computer without a virus, download a program called Malware bytes, and boot your laptop into safe mode (press F8 when the computer is starting up and choose Safe Mode), then install the malware bytes program from the flash drive and run a full scan. after the scan finishes, restart into safe mode again, and rerun the scan. then when you run it about 2 or 3 times (or until it says 0 found), boot into regular mode, and update the virus definitions on Malware Bytes and your antivirus program (hopefully you have one, if not Avast is a good one), and run full scans again using both programs. do this about 2-3 times, and your pc should be clean.
fake antivirus programs are really easy to get rid of, theyre just a pain because they act as if EVERYTHING is a virus, which does not allow you to open anything, but they dont actaully take anything, they just want you to pay money for them. if you google the name of the fake program, there will be plenty of instructions on how to remove it, but DO NOT download any kind of removal programs from any websites (because you cant trust anything), jsut use malware bytes, and Avast (or whatever antivirus u have)
I just spent 5-8 hours removing one of these from a co-worker's PC, and now it's running like new. hopefully this helps!
