Well since they are showing off movies like Amazing Spider-man, batman, etc. I thought it's time to discuss the upcoming Wolverine movie. Now, according to IMDB the confirmed Cast list so far are Wolverine, and Yuriko aka Lady Death Strike. Now this really makes me go WTF! but in a good way. In the 2nd X-men movie they bloody killed her off and it was like he didn't even know her, (I mean come on, they were lovers at one point in the comics, how the heck would he have forgotten her). So this means, it will hopefully have nothing to do with the previous trilogy. Don't forget, he already lost his memories once, better not happen again.
Thoughts on this people.

Wolverine travels to Japan to train with a samurai warrior.

possible flashback

would makes sense to bring a dead character back to go more in-depth

In the first X-Men trilogy, he had trouble remembering his past if you'll recall, and the Origins movie explains WHY he lost his memory. It would all make sense if Wolverine 2 was actually a prequel to the main storyline in the first one, otherwise it will distort the continuity of the whole X-Men movie series.

Yes, he lost his memory in the first origins movie. But he doesn't lose his memory when he goes to Japan, the second origins movie. So he should then know who Yuriko is, and clearly in X-2 United, he had no clue too who she was. Plus there already are so many plot wholes, So I am hoping this will tie in with the new X-men Trilogy.
(I hope they bring the Sentinels in the next X-men movie.)

My hopes for this film went down when Darren Aronofsky left it. Not that Mangold is a downer just feel like they took a step back bringing him in. As for the storyline, My money is on a butchered version of frank miller/Chris Claremonts work although they are both credited with the writing chores for the film already but I guess we will see how much of a hand they have really had in it once it releases. I think FOX could careless about a movie continuity, Evidence being First Class (Yeah I'm mad bro). But who knows maybe after so long we might actually get a golden egg for once but I firmly believe we won't see a faithful X-Men movie till FOX loses the rights.

I know right, I mean, how Freaking hard is it to stay true to the comics. I mean for example, the Harry Potter movies were a bit different then the books, but they still followed the fundamentals. And why can't they do that for X-Men. In the comics, Charles and Raven Darkholm were NOT family. And she is a lot older then what they depicted her as, (Around the same as Wolverine.) And Alex Summers is not Scott Summers's older brother but his younger brother. And Magneto did not cause Charles his legs, it was some prick named Lucifer. Scott was not killed by Jean. That scene right there (from X-3), just made me stand up and shout BOOOO! He is the leader of the X-men, and he's with Emma Frost, since Jean kicked the bucket.
and If we are talking MEGA plot holes to the original trilogy, remember X-3, the scene that shows Charles and Erick going to get young Jean Grey. He's still walking @_@ . I could go on and on But I think you get my point. Is it so hard to stick to the fundamentals, no it's not. And every time I hear them say, "We just want to make something fresh, and our take on the story, and make it so that everyone can dive right into the story", or some crap about making it original, I just wanna ***** slap them back to the stone age. So will we get to see something true to the books, no, not so long as it's by Fox, as you said. Or I'll be a monkeys uncle, should that day ever come.
But all that aside, I did think that First Class was pretty good, much better then the first trilogy. Putting aside the fact that they Fudged over everything in the comics. But as it's own take, it did alright, by me.
