I have a few thoughts.

First being GREAT visuals. The lighting effects were impressive. I know that was the PC version but I have faith in the XBox.

Second thought is I am torn on the knife. I love the new death animations for when it is used, but I am not sure how I feel about having to equip the knife before it can be done.

Final thought is whoever was playing that should quit. I saw no one being spotted. Really curious as to why. Pony said it best, "He looks like he is playing Call of Duty". That is NOT a good thing. I will be fair and say that there may be a reason why team work was not being used, maybe it was just a test of some sort.

Yeah, I'm sure it was just 'playing to play'. But the guy has COD in his name, lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just would have liked to see someone who played Battlefield doing it, for the reasons that Neo stated. I would have like to see them go prone, too, I think maybe he does it once but it was too quick to tell.

Definitely the spotting, and some squad work, etc. I like the new urban environments, that will be fun. :)

I think some of those videos were people that had just walked up and played one of those were at E3 were someone just went up and played. I think the Knife thing is better because it stops all the COD BS Players that run around and knife plus the animation makes it so your team can have a heads up on whats going on.

Beta is in september from what I can gather, although moh pre orderers get it early.

Also, jets are only in conquest :(

There's probably gonna be an update about a few months after the game release, to put jets in Rush.
Don't want an assload of people trying to use the Jet only to end up flying into the no-fly zone and blowing up...

Someone this evening said there would be no major destruction in bf3. I utilized the power of the mighty google to discover that destruction was nerfed for the alpha.

Also, I can confirm the oh so glorious G36c will be returning in bf3. I know of at least one division member who will be very happy with that news. :D

The Heckler and Koch G36C is said to be one of the best Assault Rifles in the world (in-game, and in real life).
It uses the standard NATO 5.56mm round (same as the M4, M16, FAMAS, etc.), has a firing rate of 750 rounds per minute, and a magazine capacity of 30.

You've already seen the Machine Gun counterpart of the H&K G36 system in BFBC2, which is more similar to the G36K (Larger German Army standard) which uses the HK G36E (Export version) single 1.5X telescopic sight, and the US designed 100-round Beta-C dual drum magazine.

The only complaints about G36 are the overheating of the handguards during sustained fire, and the loose reticle in the fixed scopes (most of the complaints come from US Police Forces who use the weapon)

Germany (of course) have adopted the G36 system, Spain, and some US Police Forces use it.

lol its that and its the most BA looking gun, it shoots just the way I like it, (I own one shhhh) and it has a fully convertable forward grip that can have a 40mm grenade launcher,shotgun or flash light and it also can take a beating if it gets dropped or hit with a bullet it wont break easily.

The feel, the weight...and just the way it fits in your hands and shoulder when you bring it up is just fuckin awesome.
Recoil is as expected with most 5.56mm Rifles.

Any mention of what kind of Aircraft is gonna be available for the game?

A-10 is most likely to appear. Not much else has been seen but the teaser trailer at GDC showed the cockpit of an f-16 engaging what looked like a mig-29.

It does, but now the realistic me is starting to *****.
If we're Marines in BF3, then technically we'd be Marine pilots. If that's so, then realistically speaking, we should be flying F/A-18 Hornets and F-35 Lightnng II's.

Unless we're Air Force pilots assissting Marine Infantry. Then F-16C Falcons would make sense (even though most of them have been replaced with F-15 Eagles and F/A-22 Raptors).
And against a MiG-29 Fulcrum makes sense as well since an SU-27 Flanker against an F-16 (or a MiG-29 against an F-15) would be highly unfair...

Perhaps the army takes the place of marines on certain maps. Also remember that the mec are gonna be a side, so expect the generic soviet and neo russian 20 to 50 year old equipment to make an appearance :D

.You can personally customize up to 5 vehicles for your own use. From what I have gathered so far, you will be able to switch missles on a jet between Air to air (I.e sidewinder), Air to ground (I.e mavericks) and bombs. Now im assuming this feature will be available for other vehicles aswell, (I.e Switching between Armour piercing rounds and High explosive on a tank)

.Engineers will have access to different kinds of rpgs. AT rockets for tanks, AA heatseakers (Stinger?) and possibly building buster rockets with high explosive. This also most likely means tracer darts are out (Sorry delta!).

.Finally, Bf3 will have 10 times the amount of unlocks as in bc2 which, according to dice, sums up to nearly a full year of content. Which means we'll be unlocking stuff for years to come. There wil be 50 ranks to progress through and service medals from Bf2 will be making a return (100 hours with Us side etc)

Tracer darts are useful except for the ridiculous smoke attachment. A tank can easily be shot without it, but a helicopter with smoke is insanely cheap. Last night was a perfect example of that.

Personally, I cannot wait to attack the ground from a jet.
