I went to the TMF Game Awards today and I kind of missed not having a PMS/H2O shirt to show all the people there...
The TMF Game Awards is the biggest mainstream gaming event in the Netherlands, and is also aired by TMF (much like MTV) and reported in the biggest gaming magazine in the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemburg) aswell as reported by large numbers of newspapers. Kinda wish I could have advertised the clan there.
Oh and this was also the first hands-on experience with the PS3 for me...and I am sorry to say that I don't really like it. The line was 2 hours long, so I kinda cheated and told 'em I did a blog and they took me to the pressroom :D But back on topic as to why I don't really like it. The gyro is a nice touch, but it really doesn't behave like I would have liked (Wii anyone?). Also the controller is too light, making it feel really fragile. And finally...rumble...
True, I might be biased since I'm a big Xbox360 gamer, but I like the console itself. No more worrying about accedentally damaging the tray, because there isn't one! It's nice and quiet, but too hot if you ask me. Graphics seem to be ok, nothing special, nowhere as good as Gears of War, though it could have been the screens (very much doubt it though). And it's huge... So maybe I can't really say many good things about it, but as I said before I'm biased.
Goodie hunt, oh goodie. First I get squished in the sea of people...then when a game finally comes my way it hits me in the head... I'm definately not doing that again anytime soon.
Lots of nice booth babes, but I would definately have loved to see them actually know something about what they were promoting... One called the DS a Mini Wii...
Played some Guitar Hero, Lost Planet, Dead or Alive Extreme 2 and ofcourse kicked some noob *** on Gears :p One game that surprised me was Bullet Witch, it was only playable in the pressroom, but I really didn't expect them to have one here already. It was still mostly in japanese, but atleast the cinematics were subtitled in english.
That about wraps up my day at the TMF Game Awards.
Reporting from the Netherlands,
Dark Dajin out.
