typical rip. never making sense
Basically it's about where chivalry went. Today, it's pretty much gone. Sad really.
I dont get it:(
I don't mean it as humor or a joke or anything, more of a statement on the condition of society these days. Actually the fact that you don't quite follow the meaning emphasizes the point, its become so common in society to focus on the superficial and forget these things. (no offense to you of course, I'll explain more in detail later)

Same with any other holiday, really.
Christmas, everybody celebrates the presents. Dont even have to be religious at all, but its sure not about the coming of christ anymore. I do it, too.. Presents ftw.
Even days like Veterans Day. You may get a moment of silence but most people look at it as 'a day off work'.

Chivalry died with the knights. and what are knights famous for fighting? Exactly so basically all the chivalrous people became knights and died to dragons. therefor the reason of this is to say that chivalry is dead. Although we could change that. If anyone still knows how to be chivalrous. Basically rip. I agree with that picture. chivalry is dead.

its not dead. i still treat everyone with respect. i still open doors for people and open the car door for a female passenger. i still buy dinner or the movie.

Naw I still see a lot of men with chivalry. The difference now is, most times I see it, they try to attach a string to it, thus defeating the selfless nature of the gesture.

I think the idea was that this was posted on thanksgiving and it was about the chivilry of holidays.
Basically, none of us here were celebrating the pilgrimage and freedom, sharing what we're thankful for the traditional way, we're just celebrating how much turkey we can eat. Thats what rip was trying to say :/.
But when it comes to people.. men/women/knights/whatever, I think it still exists.. theres just very few who truly deserve the title. No matter how nice you think you are, chances are you're still out of reach of being a great person.
I still strive to be the nicest guy I can be, but then I have unfriendly hateful moments that set me back.. And even if I am the nicest guy in the world (beyond 'holding the door' and 'buying dinner'), I really wouldn't have much to show for it in the end.
