LOVED IT and I LOVE the whole X-Men series.
I highly suggest you see this movie. It gives you an idea of how it was all started and they did a great job on the casting of it.
Anyone else see it? Thoughts?

I loved it too! Best x-men movie so far. I'm a big fan of the cartoon, and try to pick up a comic when I can :) This movie has had the most of the true x-men spirit where it's more about the characters and less about showing off powers. I have a few gripes with the movie, but I don't want to include any spoilers!
One thing is though, the movie is far from correct on the history of the characters. Again, I don't want to add spoilers, but the movies diverge from the true stories quite a bit! I don't mind, but at the same time, the original stories are far more involved.
Either way, I hope they keep up the movies in the same vein as this last one. It was definitely the best :) I would love to see a movie featuring Apocalypse or X-23 ... I know, very different topics, but still ^_^

I don't know the original story. Maybe PM me because I'm kinda interested.

I'd have to write you a novel, haha. What they basically do in the movie, without spoilering, is tie a bunch of storylines together in ways that never happened in the original. After I saw the movie, I actually went over to the X-men Wiki (http://marvel.wikia.com/X-Men) made by Marvel to figure out how the characters actually tie together in the original X-men world. If you follow that link and search for a character, you get their whole story :)

I loved the Age of Apocalypse series, a movie remake of that would be incredible! ^_^

Didn't like this movie.
whats your reasoning?
i agree with the Dark-Symmetry that this is probably the BEST X Men movie or a close 2nd to the 1st one
also feel the same that it really show cased the characters more in depth and in a much better way and brings more layers to the film rather than turning it into a Michael Bay flick where its non-stop action without any real development of characters
i was kinda disappointed with X-Men Origins and didn't have much faith in the others that have been announced
X-Men first class was a truly well made film and maybe the best Comic movie in a while along with Thor
i really hope they take this series to at least 2 more films

Yeah I liked it also. I thought Magnetos character was the best being he was the darkest, id love if they brought more darkness a la "watch men" to the next movie. I think that would make it amazing.

yee best xmen movie!~ :3
andd BANSHEE! sooo awesome :]
loved them flying scenes~ and the learning how to
anyway if i had to find one thing i didnt like, is that there could've been a bit more action :o
but at the same time i think its understandable since it seems to me that they're building up for a sequel or two
and so it all works out great! :D
yayy~~ kk yes go watch this movie ppl cause it was good :D

I loved it.
However, as a lover of the comics I've had to make a splitting in my mind. There's comic canon and then there's movie canon. Once you get to that, it's not a problem for me.
It doesn't piss on the source material as much as it takes liberties with it. But that's just like every movie based on a book. They have to adjust and take liberties. Sometimes it's good, other times it's bad.

More like stripped mined the comic book and only used what appealed to them. They wasted Darwin & Tempest, really didn't understand why they were even in the movie to begin with. And after about 15 mins I did separate the movie from the comic, just dumb they should of called it people with powers and jumpsuits stopping bad guys in the 60's.

The appearance of Nightcrawler's father is what amped it up for me. I haven't seen him in any of the cartoons but seeing him in the movie was good. The relationship (brother-sister) between Charles and Mystique was interesting to see as well seeing as he acted as if he didn't know her in the other X-men movies.

Love this entire cast but Michael Fassbender delivers the best performance with an amazing presence and command of the screen. Everyone was extraordinary. What many expected indeed happens. By that I mean every scene that Fassbender and McAvoy are in together absolutely sing.
