PSN Welcome Back Program

[PMS Alpha Sidtauri]

I just saw the post by PSN on their blog regarding the Welcome Back Program and what it entails. Apparently, we get 2 free games that are ours to keep. The problem is that I really don't know these games. For those of you who have played with me online, which of these games would you recommend for me?

Dead Nation
inFAMOUS
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
Wipeout HD + Fury

Um... maybe Dead Nation, it's a zombie shooter-ish game... you should check out some vids for the rest too. ^_^ I got LBP, I love me some sackboy! I don't know much about the rest, LBP is the only one I have played. Woo for free games! :D

Hmm, good question. I've got all the games except Dead Nation. Leaving that one out of the equation, the other 4 aren't really like anything you have in your game list right now ... So maybe that speaks for Dead Nation, haha. Approaching it differently now: I think you *shouldn't* get Super Stardust and Wipeout. The games are good, but much more arcady and not good value for money if you compare them to LBP and inFamous. That leaves you with 3 options ...

Oe, I know, download the demos! :)

I posted this thread the headed on over to www.youtube.com to see if there were trailers and/or actual game play vids posted. I found both for most.

I think LBP is probably not for me since it looks a lot like Angry Birds which drives me nuts! lol

I was kind of excited about Wipeout since I love racing games but since I have and LOVE Motorstorm I am probably going to stick with that.

So, that leaves me with inFAMOUS and Dead Nation. I really like shooter games there is no question about that. inFAMOUS reminds me a lot of GTA, which I also own and love.

Still might be on the fence, though, between Wipeout and inFAMOUS especially since there is a new version of the second one coming out soon.

Wipeout is veeeeery frustrating. It's huge fun to race in the first few matches, but it's one of those games that is notorious (infamous? lol) for it's difficulty level. I've played motorstorm, and the comparison goes as far as saying they're both racing games ;-) From what you're saying now, I'd definitely go for inFamous and Dead Nation. Of course, trying demo's never hurts :D

Ok. I actually decided on Dead Nation and Wipeout but I can't get the games. The Game 1 and Game 2 options are gone, nothing in my cart and nothing downloaded. The screen that is on autoplay in the main Welcome Back games says something about going to XMB to play. What is XMB?

Isn't XMB the menu? XMB = Cross Menu Bar?

I am not sure what the cross menu bar is. I don't see it in my list of games downloaded. It never asked me to download anything. I had the option of adding it to my cart but then it was gone. So glad you like Dead Nation! :mvboogie: I haven't seen many playing it.

The cross menu bar is just another name for the menu itself. Do you see the games listed in your games section?

They are not listed in the games that are actually on the PS3 vs. on disc. I'm confused and really wanting to play Dead Nation. :mvsad:

Sorry, but I think the errors are common, actually. PSN is saying to keep trying and they will eventually download? There are so many people doing it all at once, I guess? That's most likely your problem, if you still haven't gotten them. :)

Oh sid, i went thru the same thing.
1. On your PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable navigate to the PlayStation Network icon on the XMB
2. Log into your PlayStation Network account and choose Account Management > Transaction Management > Services List
3. Choose “PlayStation Network Promotions” from the list of services displayed (It's actually SCEA Regional something or other >_> )
4. Select either “PS3 Free Games” or “PSP Free Games” and then choose “Select Content”

mine has it right there on the store, i just go to recent updates, and it takes me right to it in the store.

I know im getting dead nation, but i can't decide on the 2nd game x.x. InFamous is really awesome, but so is LBP, and ive always been a wipeout fan. Decisions decisions.

I went with Wipeout and it is awesome! I also got Dead Nation but haven't had a chance to play it yet. :-)
