I just hope that they'll get the rights to launch their service over in Europe as well, if the pricing is close to the American pricing, I'll be using this service for sure.

V for Vendetta is one of the premier featured movies available right now.

I think it said there are about 48 movies and 50 TV shows at the moment. The highest price was 6 bucks for a movie.

Oh, and a company is already attempting to sue them for the service.

The video market place are mere rentals (at least the movies are). So 6$ for a rental when you can go out and rent the same movie for 4$ seems like a rip off to me.

And why would the sasquatches and monkeys at Microsoft be singing "oh Canada?" It almost sounds like you've got something against Canada.

Yeah, the movies are the only things that are rentals. It is a little expensive for movies, but it does save you from having to go to the movie store and you can watch some of them in HD. It's not that bad.

I was impressed with the amount of TV shows they have up there already. They seem to have most of the current season for the shows they have up, and whole past seasons for some shows as well. There has to be well over 100 episodes of shows in all.

$6 is like around £3.50 which for a rental is very cheap especially for a HD Movie.

However I bet any money when and if Microsoft release it in Europe the UK price for renting will be like £5 or even £6 which means around double that of the USA price

Shiankhi

I dont get it?
I think 6 and 5 bucks is cheap?

RandomHero

If you take UK Blockbuster prices, movies are a few £ for a couple of days.

Games are £2.50 a night so I'm guessing films will be cheaper unless they are really new. Microsoft aren't going to try and get a competative price scheme, they'll just try and get some exclusives going.

Shiankhi
11-23-2006, 10:19 AM
Ohhhhh.
Blockbuster here it costs like 7 or 8 for a movie.
I remember my dad was going to rent 2 movies and 2 games,
& it was $40 some bucks. *woah*

It's a matter of the content they put up. If Microsoft keeps putting up movies in HD on a regular basis and gets new releases in a timely fashion, then the price isn't so bad. This would prevent the need to buy the HD-DVD drive for people that want to watch movies in HD and don't have TVs that go up to 1080p resolution.

Is there a date for European release? There isn't anything up for us yet, as usual.

I'd call Xbox Live and let them know about that. They could probably give you your points back for the second time you paid for it.

I already postedd a complaint about xbox's customer service line. I was put on hold twice, the first person left me for 15mins than hung up, the second person put my on hold two seperate time and in the time between said "are you going to listen to me now", she was punishing me for not disconnecting my xbox from my router and connecting it directly to the internet.

It's too bad they don't have a better support service since they have an awesome product.

Microsoft promises to refund users who didn't receive content they paid for...

I realize that you had issues with the support, but you are entitled to a refund. I would try again.

You do keep it........but after the movie expires u can re download it how much u want...........................thats the only part better than buyin the movies...........You only got 2 wait for it 2 download so its not bad at all...................but if u play online than theres a nother problem..........

It's the same price to rent a movie up here, so I don't see it as a rip off.

I would rather just go to a place and rent it though becuase then you have a hard copy of it. But it's awesome that you can download South Park and other TV shows, I might do that if the service comes to Canada.

Where can you rent a movie for 2 bucks?!

I haven't gotten any of the movies yet, because I've seen almost all the ones they offer. I have however gotten a few TV shows. I just wish more shows came in HD though. :(

Same here in regards to the movies. I do plan on buying some tv shows though eventually. They still have the same movies as they did before, but they are doing good of adding episodes of shows.

I didn't think Limewire was illegal, just the files that are being shared?

In any case, I like where the marketplace is going with the movie/tv service. I can't wait to see what they add next. =)
