Are there any PS3 users who record their game play? If so, what do you use? I've been thinking about this for awhile as I thought it would be epic to post vids from our practice sessions or friendly games against other clans (*with or without commentary...probably with since I talk a lot :-) ).

Also, have you see the new "official" headsets by Sony for the PS3? What do you think about them? I want to get something new in a month or two but I wouldn't be able to use something that bulky...need "in-the-ear" technology as I have a bum ear and can't have something like theirs sitting over my ear. Right now I'm using a Plantronics bluetooth with a soft foam ear insert. Any ideas for an upgrade?

Eventually I want to get into recording my stuff, but I don't know much about it and hear it can be pretty pricey.

I use a Turtle Beach PX21 but they have big ear thingys. I'm not too fond of the ones that go in your ear, not for gaming anyways - I use those ones for my MP3 player. I saw the new Sony ones and they are priced WAY cheaper than the TB's that seem to have the same specs. The ones you have are really clear, I never have a problem hearing you and you never seem to break up or anything. I know a lot of people use those Sony bluetooth things but the ones I have known personally always have problems with them - not holding charges, breaking up really bad even when the battery is fully charged...things like that.

Not since the PSN went down, but I do record games and I am going to start recording some practices. I'm going to make a spot in our section for posting videos and montages from our division games. There already are some scattered around our section if you look. I happen to record from a DVD recorder and transfer to cpu. I also have made a Justin.TV account for our division. If ANY member/staff would like to use it I will happily give out the sign in info in a private message.

As for the mic, there is no in ear/bluetooth headset that compares to the Turtle beach or Triton. I use to have the PS bluetooth mic. Garbage compared to the Triton AX 180. (http://www.trittonusa.com/index.php/products/gaming_audio_technology/ax-180/) Great sound and quality. It's the most I have ever spent on a gaming headset and I am glad I did.

Thanks Major! I am looking into getting a little bit of equipment in the next two months so that I can record practices I am in as well as my private game play. It would be awesome to be able to post those on Justin.TV. I'll wait until I have the set up going before I ask for the permissions otherwise I might lose the info! :-D

I really appreciate the input on the headsets. Unfortunately, I can't use either one of those brands because their inserts are just round circles that sit in the bad part of my ear. I think I'll check again in a month or two when I'm ready to get my equipment to see what's out there. Who knows, by then there may be something new that works great for me! :mvcelebration:

i haven't checked out the sony ones yet. i have tb x41's with the pbt adapter to make it bluetooth compatible. i was going to get the tb px5 as it is specifically made for ps3 as the sound i have on the x41 is awesome, but i do have frequent popping sounds. i need to get my n router back up, that may fix part of the problem....i hope!
