Just saw this on Xbox Dashboard and I didn't see a thread about it yet, so I thought I'd make one. An alien invasion film is coming out in a little less than a month, here's the trailer:

the music makes it all very eerie, but very excited i wonder if it was filmed on central characters or if they use it from different peoples perspectives

Slight spoiler: They didn't use different people's perspectives.
The movie is AMAZING and WORTH SEEING!!!!
I just saw it a couple or hours ago and honestly, it made me want to come home and break out the Call of Duty. And there's a character for everybody.
Music lovers: Neo
Movie watchers: Aaron Eckhart & Ramon Rodriguez & the love sick guy from true blood. Bridget Moynahan from I Robot, Neil Brown Jr. from Never Back Down - which is a good movie btw -.
Me: Michelle Rodriguez
and there's lots of action. Stop reading this and go see it. GO NOW!

Sounds good! I may go see it too. I have a couple free movie tickets, so this sounds like a good movie choice to use one on. :)

The actors/actresses actually went through Marine Corp boot-camp. I'm glad they did that and didn't just tell them "Ok here's a list of military terms, say them as often as possible."

I thought this movie was awesome but my friends who came with me thought it sucked because they didn't like the story or the title. I called them both uncultured idiots and depreciated their opinions by pulling the "You don't understand because you've never been in the military" card. A lot of the actions they performed throughout the movie (shooting aliens notwithstanding) is SOP for any military branch.

Anyway, they're stupid. Battle: Los Angeles is the single most amazing alien invasion movie since Independence Day.

The actors/actresses actually went through Marine Corp boot-camp. I'm glad they did that and didn't just tell them "Ok here's a list of military terms, say them as often as possible."

They went through Marine training for 3 weeks, and had military consultants on-hand throughout the movie to make sure they used correct jargon, and also portrayed the Marines correctly.

Aaron Eckhart said that when he went to Afghanistan for a USO show, he asked the military out there what they hated most about military movies in the US and they told him that they didn't like how actors would hold their weapons, or use jargon, or even dress in their uniforms.

This movie is probably an example of some of the most realistic military operations in a film ever.

I just saw this today and I love it! I don't like to use comparisons because people can get the wrong idea but if I had to I would say it's like a mix between Black Hawk Down and Independence Day. Which for me is 2 movies I will watch over and over again anytime. Fantastic film definitely worth watching.

Game is $10, 40 min long, 1 player only, and not worth the money. The movie - as always - is better than the game.

I really enjoyed this movie. I went to the movies expecting to see Marines fighting aliens, and that is EXACTLY what I got! Haha.
The entire time I was watching it, I was thinking, "this would make a GREAT game, look at all of these objectives!" I haven't played the actual game yet, but you guys are convincing me that it's not worth it. XD

I'm going say one thing about this movie though.... It did feel like one of those Marines Commercials I'm not going lie...Even though I am going into Marines and I got say Making a Movie about Marines will get more recruits... Not saying they did on purpose just stating opinion.

I love the movie still. oorah!

Poor character development and story make this a worn very forgettable film. Does not really matter who or when death would be forthcoming. I probably would not matter much if at least one of the characters has been an annoying ass but it seems that everyone was a hero who ends up making no one a hero.

The over-abundance in cheesy lines, frankly annoying camera work, and massively predictable scenes could have been forgiven if this film had been a "b" movie, as that's what we have grown to expect from that genre. Also, despite the film being quite action packed from the get-go, I found that it dragged on and on, and definitely could have been better if it was at least a half-hour shorter.

I didn't see it in theaters, but I plan on buying the DVD. I'm glad there's some positive reviews on here, because I love anything with Michelle Rodriguez. ^^
