I just read a story on this today and saw it hadn't been posted.
Last weekend a leaked copy of Crysis 2 (PC) found its way onto torrent sites. While games have been leaked in the past before their retail release, this has been restricted to retail copies leaked a few days prior to the release. Crysis 2 is an exception, because this leak involves a work-in-progress build that's out a month before the official release.
According to comments by those who downloaded it, the game is playable although incomplete and also packs in the CryEngine 3 editor. Crytek/Electronic Arts released this statement on Friday.
Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.
Responses I've seen in various places indicate that this shouldn't harm the sales for Crysis 2 as most people who have downloaded it are still planning on buying it on release anyway. Probably better to think of this as an extended demo.
I've also heard reports that Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm have also been leaked but it doesn't appear to have been fully broadcasted everywhere yet.
