It just shows how little the industry understand female gamers.... :(

here i see they are also trying to reach a very young audience of girls. might be good cuz it can get them into other types of game that we play. but is funny how that categorize female games. hmmmm

Lol, EB and gamestop use us to make money, offering crap like this, and lets not talk about the bundles for PS3 and Wii releases. Oh but i will have to say, they laughed at me when i bought the Strawberry Shortcake game. Sorry I love strawberry Shortcake, but this game blows! But in a redeming factor, they do have cooking mama, which is like boredom crack.

(...)Gears of War, anyone?Oh no, we won't have any of that. Now, go on - go play Singstar on your pink PS2 after you're done playing The Sims.
A girl playing violent action games, now that'd be the day! What's next? Women voting? Hah!

Well its targeing a younger audience. Maybe they will go for people a little older next time *hopefully* But I do like our gory killing games but those are girl like are they.... Gosh some people are dumb. -.-

The problem with those games is they really don't get a younger audience of girls into gaming. They're just the same brainwashing slop that companies have been feeding girls since before video games were even released. I can guarantee that a very small percentage of girls that play those games will ever go on to play a decent PC or console title for more than five minutes.
I know from experience that girls have it in them to go on killing sprees and tear people limb from limb.

LoL, I'm thinking I prefer tagging you with a grenade better Panda.
Blah...you know some parents will see that and think hey...this is a great game for my little girl...look there's pink (obviously it's for girls, because all girls love pink). And I'm sure their little girl is going to learn the skills needed to compete at the same level as most competitive gamers playing Hillary Duff Twiddles Her Thumbs...that is if she wants to be a gamer. And then the circle continues...but PMS Clan will always be there to let ladies know you don't need to play Bratz Hit The Street anymore, lol.
I sorta of understand where they're coming from tryin to offer something to little girls...I had a Beaty and the Beast handheld when I was about 7 or 8. Things are starting to change though. My little sisters played Metroid, Halo, Crimson Skies, Ghost Recon, and my niece was playing those FPS, sports, and other games at 5.
If they want to continue selling these types of games, at least make it equal and point out the games for younger boys that are made as well. But no...they want a whole separate display for girls...

I don't really think it is a big deal, As you can plainly see it isn't meant for people over the age of 10, and who are capable of buying thier own games. But it is nice to be able to pick up horribly bad games marketed to girls as a joke for a friend or family member
"Hi John, I was at gamestop, and I couldn't help it here you go"
Hands over gift wrapped box
"Oh tim thanks buddy, What is it?"
John rips open the wrapping to see a Strawberry Shortcake game.
John is now under arrest for the murder of Tim.
Good Times.

Me too - I went in on NBA Live 07 for X360's release date and they told me to pre-order for the following day (according to my BF who's worked there, they get commission for it). I walked a couple stores down to Target and what do ya know! 15+ copies in the glass case! Same deal happened for PS2's Socom Combined Assault - I was told they don't have it and to pre-order for the next day.... I strolled in at Sony Metreon's Playstation Store and there were plenty of copies there! After those incidences, I won't be going to EB Games and GameStop anymore :p
And yeah, those advertisements make me shake my head in shame - I've never played a game of Ariel or anything related to Bratz, the color pink, or ponies... since I was 5 I've been playing shooters, action/adventure, fighting, and racing games! They need to get with the program :female:

i see what they are trying to do, aiming the display at little girls. however, why don't they at least try to sell quality games, instead of a ripoff of "that's so raven"? A bad game isn't going to pull in any new gamers.
i've heard that "cooking mama" is supposed to be awesome, but i won't get it since it plays into what morons all over halo 2 and cs keep saying "women need aprons, not guns".

I dunno about that. I've seen a resurgence of Strawberry Shortcake memorabilia in the last year or two, and I haven't seen anything featuring her in 15-20 years. I saw a "Masters of the Universe" game for the GBA about a year ago. They could use some of the more modern characters, but there's a definite possibility that they would use some of the classics as well.

A few years ago they tried to bring back strawberry shortcake big time, but she never really left, she just went underground like Polly Pocket, and hmmmm Masters of the Universe was recently revamped for modern kids, but it failed. Kind of like GIJoe is doing right now.

Oh man, loved He-Man and She-ra. Did they ever make games for them? I had every single She-ra action figure, horse, and all the castles and waterfalls etc. /nerds out. If they made games for those two cartoons I'd be ALL over that.
