Yes! I love the office and I just started watching Battle Star Gallactica. You have no idea how far this rabbit hole goes. Trust me. BSG is probably less nerdy than my last Sci-fi show obsession..... Eeek! It's so cool! What totally geeks you out? Do you watch BSG?

What is that one about? I only sat down to watch it for once because I signed up for this 1 month free trial of NetFlix and they had it up there. /shrug So I got down to business. I hate it when TV put to much sexuality into shows but I love it when TV makes fun of over sexualizing things. There are parts of Walking dead that make me want to pull out a shot gun and shoot the TV.

Ehhh.... sex with good storyline to back it up sells better IMO. I really really hate hate hate it when something interesting will be happening and then BAM! Out of no where they throw in a few people having sex. Why are they having sex? Nobody knows. And for some reason people think this makes good entertainment? WTF?
I can handle sex if there is a reason for it. Is all I'm saying. But lately TV has started to resemble Pizza Delivery Porno.

I had the same problem with Stargate. I could never get into it for YEARS. But Galactica seems way better. Of course it might just be my obsession with outerspace things right now. xD I feel like I'm watching Mass Effect in a mini series. A similar enemy and a similar crisis and all. I totally just finished watching Ep. 7 in Season 1 just now.

About the sex sells thing, if we just did what the British do, allow cursing and nudity on TV, then maybe we wouldnt have such awful plots being supported by sexual themes. Or maybe we would just get a gratuitous use of nudity to support awful plots. Either is better than the neutral ground of now. Just saying.
Back on topic: Sci-fi shows dont really catch my fancy.

Back on topic: Sci-fi shows dont really catch my fancy. :/ I pretty certain what we have right now is people going as far as they can with out flat out showing **** and Dicks on the telly. It's still makes for pretty bad television no matter what way you knock it if you have sexual themes and nothing to support it. Also....
Neutrality isn't always a bad bad thing. I would rather be neutral towards sex and sexuality(Which is what I am) Than making my sex my identity or the opposite which is totally oppressing it.
Sex is sex is sex is sex. As it stands now we are over focused on it both as a nation and as a subject for this post. It shouldn't be such a big deal that we have to push it into our plots in order to mae a story watchable, or for people less comfortable with it, they shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable every time they try to watch "family" oriented television.
Back on topic:
You... don't like... Sci-fi? ;.; I love sci-fi! My favorite one is actually hugely sexual but in the most hilarious, obscure, corny way. Like Penis Shaped watering cans kind of way. Of course it's a Canadian/German project so they now how to make sex and sexuality in a plot line seem totally "normal" xDD

Meh, I could never get into the Stargate series either. The only things I've been able to watch have been Farscape years back, lol, and BSG :)

It's been getting crazy religious but not in a bad way IMO. It's like they are in a sci-fi version in the fall of the Roman Empire/borrowing some themes from just about any great sci-fi you can think of. Dune included. I don't think this is bad!! It's entertaining! It's a sci-fi through and through. I <3 it!! I'm gonna watch another Ep. before bed again. =D
[edit] Btw fall of the roman Empire meaning the type of religious themes that are being brought up, of Monotheism vs worshiping the idols of Polytheism.

So the very last show of the season made me LOL. It was kind of sloppily put together when it came to the actual filming. The story is still making me drool all over the place but there were some elementary errors. Maybe they had a bunch of rookies on set?
There was a scene where you could see two guys in cargo shorts(probably part of the crew) behind a glass case that was about to be shot to pieces. And at the very last shot the XO looked straight up at the camera before looking back down.

Haha Have you watched it? I'm a few episodes in on season 2.5 now (I've been sick all day xD) and It's starting to lose steam. Feels like they are deviating from the plot in order to elongate the series. That always turns out to be a let down. I hope they pick it up again soon.

I just watched the intro to the episode of The Office where the title quote was said and actually have it paused cuz I remembered seeing this as a topic on the forums and had to find it, lol. I really enjoyed Battlestar Galactica, watched that about a year or so ago beginning to end.
Now I'm almost done with season 3 of The Office, I'm so bummed that I missed out on this show when it first came out! The pranks Jim pulls on Dwight are great, and Michael... I can't believe the things he gets away with doing or saying. Great shows though, both of them :)

Battlestar Galactica is AMAZING. There are sometimes during the seasons where the episodes start to drag a bit and they are mostly filler but once you near the second half of season 3 and move onto 4 and 4.5 it just gets BETTER and BETTER. It a series that is most definitely worth it to watch.

I have just finished the whole lot and only have BSG The Plan to watch but have been told that its poor :( which would be a shame after the rest of it being soooo good.

yeah Razor was pretty sick. TBH I'm a little sad and begining to wish I never started watching season 4. Not because it's not good it's just so depressing. My favorite season had to be Number 2 before they started butchering off characters lives and morality. Right now 4 episodes in, it seems the only being, human or cylon. worth saving right now is Hilo and MAYBE Lee Adama but he kind of fraked up in certain area's with his morality.
Season 3 was hard to get through because it was pretty depressing and in season 4 they utterly destroyed and killed off one of my favorite characters life and marriage(wont say who).
Season 2 was exciting it felt like a mystery or an adventure I was excited to see what was waiting for them, but ever since season three it feels like a roller coaster that is mostly going down. For every 2 steps forward they take 10 steps back.
So far the sickest conclusion for a season was for sure number 3 but I haven't finished 4 yet.

Yeah season 4 and 4.5 were the worst to me. but the show in general is so worth watching :)

I finished it! I also got my bangs cut similar to Cally Henderson Tyrol today. Love it. The ending was really great but I'm still pissed about what they did to Cally. I glared at what's her face, black/Indian, final cylon ***** every time she spoke or showed up on the screen. I wanted to shove her out the airlock. I'm a little happy that Chief Tyrol took Cally's revenge but at the same time he wasn't good enough for her. It was a sweet sweet revenge though. She deserved it, no doubt.
