Wii & PS3 Launch Day: What Are You Doing?

I'm planning on parking my happy butt with my fiance and hopefully fellow PMS Stratford and Chicken at most likely Target or Wal-Mart the night before launch for the Wii. I have Elebits and Super Monkey Ball pre-ordered(You can get a shirt and a monkey ball character made by Joyride at some Gamestops when you preorder) and I plan on picking up Zelda the same time as the console.

Anyway, I was set on doing the midnight thing at Wal-Mart like I did for the 360..but everytime my fiance and I walk in to ask specific questions about it, their faces go into knots and I can just read in their eyes the same question each time, "What the hell did this girl just ask me and should I be insulted? Now, I make sure to add "...Wii....the next generation came console from Nintendo, you know like the Gamecube??"


I'm still not sure, but I'm leaning more towards waking up early and waiting at Target at least I'm positive their getting them, although I don't doubt WalMart won't though.

I plan on getting the PS3 when more titles come out and when the price goes down a little more(hopefully).

Oh I will FOR SURE be camping outside my local stores for a wii this weekend. I've never been so excited for a game system as I am for the Wii (or maybe it's just the new zelda). My first plan is Walmart at 12:01am... they had an ad for it yesterday in our local paper. It said that each walmart is limited to 20per store. that's pretty crappy if you ask me. but it's a shot. Then I'm going to try Target at 8am and my last resort is Best Buy at 9am. haha. it'll all depend on the lines and how early i get to the stores. I BETTER get one tho... or i'll be one unhappy camper. I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about Zelda. :)
Is the Wii going to have gamertags like xbox for online play or friendslists or even games you can play online together?? I've been so occupied thinking about Zelda that I forgot to even think about that. I'm guessing not.. that's more of an xbox thing i guess. oh well.

oh and Gypsy... i'm gonna call you to make sure you are lined up for one too!! hehe.

me and my friend have the ps3 pre-ordered, so i'm not too worried about not getting one, we will go to EB at 11 or so the night before, grab it, then put it up on Ebay.

then later on get a ps3 for ourselves, and a wii.

I believe the wii will have friends lists, though i'm not sure to what extent they'll work. Hopefully better than the DS, thou I still love my DS Lite
If you're really snazzy you can multitask on xbl AND the wii at the same time, and how entertaining would that be to be chatting with people while they're playing on the wii, especially with the vision - Gituar hero is going to seem boring haha.

Only 20 per store? Thats dismal, granted there should be about 3 times as many wii's as PS3s, but still that is a real bummer. There's so much stuff comming out for the 360 that I don't think I even have the time to do justice to a wii, and while the PS3 is a powerhouse it is just too pricy. I think if the wii turns out to be a success (which is most probably will), i'll try to get one eventually because that'd be a blast, can you imagine table tennis with that thing? haha

i assume the Wii will have some sort of friends list capabilities. but their online features have been pretty much kept in the dark. so who knows.

yeah, me and my friend are waiting till the peak, we saw 1600-1800 on Ebay last week i believe, we're tryin to push for 2000, but we will see (we are splitting it 50-50 so we want quite a bit for it.)

My mom wants a Wii and we have a target about a 2 minute walk from us so we'll probably spend the night infront of it. Unless I can convince my friend Mark to hold one for me at Sears, since he is in the Electronics Department.

No PS3 for me for a while though, I'll just go to my friend Kevin's house and play.

I decided that I will not be buying a Wii on it's release, I'll be waiting for the prices to go down a bit before I buy the Wii and the PS3. And neither of the consoles got games that I'm dying to play (I don't have a history with Nintendo, so their classic franchices aren't really that appealing to me), so I'd rather wait and see.

Wii all the way baby! I haven't the ends to spend on the PS3- I can't justify that; but ya I will be somewhere to pick up my Wii! The 360 was under the radar at Costco- I wonder if the same will occur for the Wii? I'll check there 1st. Anyway which ever system you choose to buy or are currently playing on ...HAPPY GAMING!:D

Come to the PS3 NY launch party

Tags: Sony, New York We've all been waiting for the PlayStation 3 launch and mind you, it's just very much around the corner. Regardless of the bad press hounding it, we certainly still do want to give this next-gen baby a try. But before that, maybe you'd like to celebrate first all the waiting you have done and reward yourself by attending the PS3 New York Launch Party.

The event will be held at SonyStyle Plaza, 550 Madison Ave., New York City. While the gates would open by 9 p.m. sharp, you might want to get there early for only the first 400 people in line would be admitted. And also, don't forget to bring your ID with you. Only those 18 years old and above will be allowed to join the party.

Aside from host Ludacris, D-nice and Charlie Murphy, you might be thinking, "why the heck would I want to go to that party?" Because you can actually purchase the console there, that's why! Around midnight before the event ends, a good number of PS3s will be sold to the attending public. Unfortunately, we didn't get the exact number of the consoles available but we heard, there are not so many of them.

So again, SonyStyle Plaza on Thursday, November 16. It's the PS3 New York Launch Party. Be there.

We got our queue tickets and he sold his to some desperate dad who had promised his son a 360 for Christmas, and made about $100 bucks on it. He had a 360 preordered at EB Games, so it worked out pretty well for him ;)
He didn't really plan on doing so, but cash is king.

My friends who are 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in line at the mall are just chilling there. I went to hang out with them for the day, and there was so many people I caught a massive headache, plus it got kinda boring just, being there for half the day.

And for the Wii, I dont know, maybe next year
