MC was obviously too high off the patch and kept making too many phoenix as far as i'm concerned.. where the voidrays dawg?! he goin mech! dayum >:[
so i think that was a pretty huge deal in the matter..

as for idra beating nada.. dont get me wrong i'm happy for the zergs.. but man
NaDa was doing a stupid strategy obv -_-
he was already qualified in his group anyway so it's not like he had anything huge on the line, so he used an old strategy that he was already pretty sure wouldn't work, but gave it a shot anyway
if it were a TRUE NaDa vs idra game where they both went MACRO style, idc how good idra is, NaDa would've bossed him >:[

Yeah I was really surprised by Nada's decision to one base all in...what the hell? I usually see Nada play macro games so it was really odd. Idra himself said it didn't feel like a real game.

I actually cant wait to check out Jinro vs Idra pt2! Sucks they had to face each other again already, so only one could move on to semi-finals :(

If you're already in Stargate tech you can counter thors with Voidrays, hence the patch change, but like Jinro said in the interview. He literally just had EVERY counter to toss air.

Personally I don't think he should have gone carrier, he was wanting to end the game to quickly is why he lost.

uhm, voidray do better than pure phoenix against viking, which is the only real anti air jinro had other than thor, which voidray are also good against? xD
sure he had marines.. but he was invested heavily in mech so i still think having voidrays would've been a good thing

as for the carrier game, that was just dumb as far as i'm concerned because carriers are unmicroable haha >.>

Well you gotta remember one thing too. Not only are they apparently "best friends", but they live together and train together every single day. So odds are they know each other's playstyle almost as well as their own. So sometimes completely changing it up for a game could really surprise your opponent in that case. Perfect example is G1 of RO8 Jinro vs Idra (notice I did not say who...)..

Either he didn't expect Jinro to scout his carriers or he didn't expect as many thors. Thors shut down Phoenix almost completely, especially since most protoss don't know what a magic box is lolol.

Regardless going carrier was a good response to jinro turtling (since he wanted to end the game) but getting it scouted and Jinro having already gone Viking thor was just a blind counter imo.
