So...... I went to Hot Topic and bought my "Nom.. nom... nom..." Pac-Man shirt which is one of my shirts I'll be wearing up to PAX East since I'm a Pac-Man fanatic. There was a cashier who I looked at here and there when going in that looks real cute and is my type of attractive.
I bought the Pac-Man shirt and actually had a conversation with her, so I think... This "conversation" has actually drew me to wanting to ask her on a date and whatnot, you know? Thing is, I don't even know her name. So... where should I start?! HELP ME NOW! Eek!
Hm maybe next time you go in hot topic strike up a conversation again and casually add in "we should hang out some time"
Oh gosh i don't know i'm horrible at advice lol good luck

Lol. SOME advice is better then no advice. I don't know. She might be older then me which would fail. But I'm legal, so.......
Meh you never know some chicks dig the younger ones lol the worst possible thing she could say is "No" and if she says that oh well on to the next right?

I always say age really isn't anything, isn't it how mature they are? So what... I've been on this planet for eighteen years, but that doesn't mean I'm less mature then a twenty year old, right?
And yeah... Lol. I guess the next cute one. :P

Well, you could always strike up another convo with her... Maybe ask her if she wants coffee sometime. Oh, you'll need her # for that... *facepalm*
I'm horrible at giving advice. But, the coffee thing usually works.
awe the coffee pick up line <3 LOVE the classics. lol

Funny thing, I work at Panera Bread, making the coffee and tea is part of my job, so maybe I could take her to Panera, which is a two minute walk from Hot Topic inside the mall. Hmph.

Great idea! And BTW, us "older" women do like younger men so long as they're mature and can bring some thought-provoking conversation to the table... so I think you're good :)

xD Not all older women. I'm only 21 but the age difference of dudes I'm into has always been 3-8 years older most often settling around 5. My husband is even 5 years older than me. I imagine as a grow older I'll continue to like the salt and pepper grey hairs of an older man. Something about maturity even in looks is just blam! awesome for me. Of course... when I was 12 I was crushing on 58 year old Auron from FFX.
In my experience, of course I also don't speak for all women. I've occasionally found it a turn off if men approach me at work. But it definitely depends. Sometimes I'll chat with a regular who I think is kinda cute and I'm dreading the day one tries to ask me out. The main issue being if you don't know her name you probably don't know if she's already seeing someone either, which in my case I'm married, so I'm going to shut anyone down. On the other hand if it's some dude who just thinks he's hot **** or some guy who sends his sister in to tell me I'm cute, my automatic reaction is instant shutdown, rather than letting them fall a bit softer.
Sorry for playing devil's advocatt. But my advice would be to find out her relationship status and even a name first.

That's what I'm kind of sketch about. I don't know how old she is, her name, or if she's seeing anyone. So... Hey! I guess, why not go for it, not like I can lose anything, right?

Really?
If she is in a relationship she will turn him down (in a polite way) simple as that. But yeah it would be helpfull if you knew her name. Maybe after talking to her on a couple occasions you can drop a "I'm lennon btw" then she should reply with her name. Then take it from there.
But yeah you have nothing to lose dude go for it. :D

Not all the time. If she's caught off guard she might end up being rude on accident. It's happened to me before. I felt super bad about it. Then of course their are girls who are just plain rude...

I definitely think you should maybe go in the store a few times and strike up a conversation with her. I wouldn't worry about if she's in a relationship or not because if she is, she'll likely turn you down in a polite way. Better to try and find out than never try and not know right? :D good luck and let us know what happens!

tell her you work at panera. take it slow, but be up-front. say hi when you see her. invite her to panera for lunch -
and yes you will eventually have to make a move brother!
good luck.

Sometimes your receipt says that name of your cashier. You could try looking at that for a name. But as to how to ask her out. You got me. I've never done that before. I'm too awkward sometimes. But that doesn't mean I won't try when the time comes. ;D

It's a hard one since you've already exchanged conversation with her. But you can go in again and just mingle about, try and catch her on her break or at closing time or when her shift ends and ask if she wants to get some coffee with you.
or go in a few times and mingle and flirt with her and tell her you work 5 minutes down the road, next time your on your break shes on hers you can bring her some coffee etc and have a cosy wee chat in the stock room? or wherever you guys go for your breaks.
Just be yourself, awkwardness an all.

Advise to take:
Start up a convo again with her on something both you and her have in common. Before your done and about to leave, throw a "My name is Lennon btw." The next time you see her another convo try to see if she would want to chill with you. If she just wants be friends then Hey there others out there dude. OR You can be I guess cheezy and sing Just the way you are by Bruno Mars (This requires you to play the guitar or piano while sing) :)
(Be advised the following could upset you in some way. please tell me if you do not like my post and I will happily edit it of. Thank you.)
Advise NOT to take or say but still funny to hear when someone attempts it- Seriously DON'T DO IT:
Cheezy line #1
Girl did you just fart cause you blew me away.
Cheezy line #2
guy: Did it hurt?
girl: Did what hurt?
guy: When you fell from Heaven.
Cheezy line #3
Do you have a map? Cause I keep getting lost in your eyes.
Cheezy line #4
Bond. James Bond.
Cheezy line #5
You must be Jamaican, because Jamaican me crazy.

Biggest thing you should do, is just be yourself. Famous is right on that account. Just strike a conversation with her, find out if she likes coffee or panera, and even if you don't ask her to have coffee or something with you, bring by some one day when you go by and know she is working. At that point she should get the picture you think she is attractive and will either turn you down or more options will open up from there.
Just be on your toes!

You know I've been a retail manager for a long time so the biggest thing is not be creepy and lurk... Mall girls get hit on all the time. Sometimes it is painful to watch. You work in the mall so you always have general mall conversation. Pop in a few times make her laugh and gauge interest. She works at Hot Topic so she probably likes going to shows. Ask her which ones are coming up. Find a band that she mentions that you like and ask her to it. It's a cool fun first date and you can talk between bands. Plus local shows are usually cheap. That's how I would do it.
Good Luck

Do try again and let us know how it goes! Everybody here has given some really good advice. Try not to be too direct though, because that can be overwhelming for a girl. Start with some small talk and then mention your name - that will give her a chance to introduce herself.
I think the worst way a guy has approached me was at the bus stop. Some random guy came up to me and simply said "We should be friends. Let's be friends!" I was so creeped out. You definitely need some familiarity with each other before proposing something like friendship or a date. I ended up saying "no thanks" and taking a different bus home.

No risk, no reward.
I would go back to the store and ask her for her number.
Go for it. If she says no, shop at a different Hot Topic.

Be yourself
Short. Sweet. To the point.
Honestly, do the whole: "My names _____ by the way", then just keep talking to her and just ask her if shed like to go do something (coffee, movies, whatever you two like to do) Then take it from there. Don't worry bout the whole single thing, if she thinks your coming on two strong she will let you know. Like the good ol saying, "If they don't know what they've got in front of them, they must be blind"
I hope that was some help =]

Next time you're in her store, mention your name... as stated...
Then, to find out if she's in a relationship, ask her if "she or her boyfriend" have played the new (INSERT GAME TITLE HERE).....
1. You'll find out if she has a boyfriend.
2. You'll find out if she likes gaming.
You can always drop her a gamertag/psn/wii code if she's into it (and doesn't have a boyfriend) and go from there.
Just a thought :)
