News about the Gears 3 Beta

Epic Games and EA announced today that players who purchase the much-anticipated Bulletstorm: Epic Edition will gain access to the Gears of War 3 beta with a download key.

Epic Games had this to say: "In addition to access to the beta, the Epic Edition gives players bonus in-game Bulletstorm content when playing online, including 25,000 experience points, visual upgrades for their iconic leash, deadly Peace Maker Carbine, boots and armor."

Bulletstorm will be available for in-store purchase for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on February 22, 2011 in the US, and February 25, 2011 in Europe.

Bulletstorm is going to sell very well because any fans of the Gears series who do not have another way of accessing the beta will purchase that game. Let us remember that when Crackdown came out, it included the Halo 3 beta and most people were playing that instead of Crackdown.

Hopefully, Bulletstorm will NOT be as lame as Crackdown was, and that the Gears 3 beta does not become its only selling point.

I read this on X360A and I honestly think this is just a money grabbing scheme to get loyal fans to pay for the GoW3 beta.

With that said however, I know nothing on Bulletstorm. So, anyone want to sell to me, why I should be interested in bulletstorm?

I think I'm not paying for a beta that will just be glitchy and possibly pushed back and never released. I still haven't gotten my ghost recon beta that I preordered and bought games for. Is Cliffy B scared his other game won't sell without the added promotion? I am just disappointed in this ploy overall. I will impatiently wait for Gears and take advantage of the extra time to play Brink and GR:FS.

GEARS 3!!! I'm so pumped. I'm excited for Bulletstorm, as well, but Gears always has a special place in my heart...even when it makes me want to throw my controller against the wall.

Im not going to say its a gracious move by Epic, and we should all be grateful, but the truth is IT WORKS! Do you not remember MS adding in H3 betas if you bought Crackdown? Or Reach beta being included with ODST? Its a growing trend, and quite honestly one I wish they would do more sometimes. I will say right now, if they guarantee a good beta spot for SWTOR, I will buy ANY game they include that with immediately...just sayin..lol.

Either way, you win if you want to buy Bulletstorm, and if you don't then its no different for you anyways! Will be interested to see how both games are actually....

Clearly you should get the 360 version, because it will have Xbox-exclusive content. Then again, if you just want to play Bulletstorm while everyone else is playing the Gears 3 beta, be my guest! LOL

Seriously though, if you wanna be part of the beta, grab the 360 port.
