Today I had an interview for games developer Eutechnyx! They contacted me about vacancies in their QA department and I can say the interview went really well :D Eutechnyx are a North-East based studio so it means I don't have to mess about relocating and I can stay up here. Most of the ones I've applied for in recent times are in London. Eutechnyx specialise in racing games with only a couple widely-known games...Big Mutha Truckers 2 and SRS: Street Racing Syndicate.
I sat down with the QA Manager and Project Manager and had a good talk about previous experience and about the company in general. I wasn't nervous at all, couldn't wait to get there. The studio itself is hidden away in the business park part of the Metro Centre and isn't as big as say EA's Chertsey studio. Having said that though it was very modern inside and I felt at home instantly.
They asked me about my previous testing experience and my background. I told them about the clan and asked what software they used as a bug database (they use an in-house created programme for reference). I picked up on some good vibes and key phrases from them which leads me to believe its looking good. I have to go back to test one of their titles and show I know what I'm talking about.
Theres been a variety of opportunities come my way in the past year or so but for whatever reason most haven't worked out (cruise ship thing for example). Things are looking up, I'll let you all know if I get it.
